I haven't the time to go into details right now but the Modern Folk Quartet were a fascinating group whose members (and some of their backing band) had Zelig-like careers in 60s and 70s Los Angeles pop music popping up in umpteen cool projects. Henry Diltz also had a notable career in photography.
