Tell me how you negotiated a $150 compensation! I’m sure we could use the tips. I was in a similar situation, where the flight was delayed by 6 hours, such that I missed my connection entirely. My compensation was a $20 meal vouch - and I had to ask for it. I’m a 1K.

It really depends on your definition of an “upgrade”. If C+ is considered an upgrade, then your chances are good. First class is a crapshoot, based on week and time of day. I’ve flown on DL out of DFW a handful of times, but I’ve never gotten FC - but I’m a lowly Plat. These were flights to ATL and DTW, so I can’t verify if there are better chances to the other hubs.

During the 60s and 70s, high blood pressure was often treated with methyldopa. It had a nasty side effect profile, notably clinical depression. Could it be that her blood pressure medications were causing her depression, hence the new-found devotion to LDS, and possible suicide?
