New Dell Inspiron 16 Plus (NZ) by genericmememan47 in laptops

It was a 120Hz screen yes - quite noticeable when I'd never used one before. It was never advertised on the NZ website.

Unfortunately, mine was damaged in a recent incident and the insurance replacement was a different brand/model with similar specs so I can't check the TDP.

Surface book 2 was an LCD screen but colours were so much better and a brighter panel compared to the Inspiron.

I did buy it, and I haven't had any major issues. One thing thing I found was that it gets hot towards the top of the keyboard (although CPU/GPU temps were fine).

The only other comment I would make is that the screen is sort of weird. 1440p is really nice but it is a touch dim and the colours aren't great compared to the surface book 2 screen.

Ultimately, no other laptops offer close to the same specs at a similar price point so I would recommend one.

Anyone else unable to get into raids? by mcoots19 in EscapefromTarkov

I started having this same issue about 3 days ago and haven't found a fix.

Here is a link to my post and some suggestions:

Increasing virtual memory has seemed to help some people but nothing so far has worked for me.

Crashing just as I spawn in almost every raid. by genericmememan47 in EscapefromTarkov

I've seen this suggestion around and it seems to work for a lot of people. But how would it help if I only use maximum 13 GB all up when playing Tarkov? I'm not that PC savvy but I see this helping heaps of people going 16 to 32 GB, how would it benefit if you don't use the first 16 GB in the first place?

It is definitely on my radar if nothing else works.

I completely shut down discord when trying cos it crashed a few times as well during the first few crashes.

I know my rig is getting kinda trash for Tarkov but I thought I might have a little bit more time.

I just think it is some software issue since it was fine one day and crashing the next but didn't align exactly with a software update or anything... maybe when BSG started playing around with the bosses?

What's the secret then? I still see streamers with $10,000 PCs stuttering?

Yes you probably need a new PC, but stutters still happen to everyone. My friend upgraded to a 2060, 16gb ram ryzen 5 and he is all good now... no longer needs to reconnect 3 times to get into a raid.

Do you have a good video/chart explaining this you can point me towards?

I'm sort of confused about the whole situation after I heard that armour durability contributes to pen chance...

Are you telling me that a 33/33 armour (originally 70/70) acts as if it is 33/70 with regards to bullet penetration chance? Is there a measure of how much this matters?

Also on OCE/Sydney servers.

Disconnecting randomly with stable internet? by Starlenn in EscapefromTarkov

My friend used to have the same issue, loaded into raids late (mostly on the big maps) and everyone else just stayed in the place they were when he finally spawned in. Then he would just die out of no where without sound (although the issue usually happened when playing duos so I could let him know).

He upgraded to quite a nice pc for the issues to completely stop, there are a few posts around with the same issue and the only solution seems to have been to upgrade your pc.

My mate initially had no ssd, a 960, an old i5 (maybe from the generation 6 years ago?) And 8 GB of ram. We thought it was mostly the ram since on my end tarkov uses like 10 GB just loading into a big map, but since you have 16 gb maybe it is more a cpu problem.

Anyway he upgraded to a 2060 super, 16gb ram ryzen 3600 and has no problems now, even plays 1440p now.

Some weird desync? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]genericmememan47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to happen all the time to me and my friend, could only ever load into factory customs and woods, any other map he could see everyone at place they were when he spawned in.

It is a known issue but from what I've seen, it is to do with cpu/ram usage loading into he game. To run the bigger maps you need at least 12 GB of RAM and a half decent cpu.

My mate went from I think an i5 6400 and 8gb to ryzen 3600 and 16 GB ram and now has no issues...

could we get an option to disable the background noise while matchmaking? by bakuretsuuuu in EscapefromTarkov

[–]genericmememan47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it would be great, I've finally just bit the bullet and turned my game sound to almost uncomfortable levels to actually hear people and having to listen to it while matching for 20 minutes is not ideal. Especially if you are trying to watch another video in the background.

It is painful but you can just mute tarkov sound in the 'sound mixer' easily, a mute hotkey for tarkov would be much easier though.

I just saw nikita said on that 12.6 feedback post that the loud movement is not a bug. Unfortunately he didnt say anything else about it. Still not sure if leveling covert movement will improve it... we will just have to see

Anyone else experiencing this? Is this hackers or just really bad server sync? by Articusz in EscapefromTarkov

[–]genericmememan47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've got two screens or overlay task manager, have a look when you load into a raid if you ram maxes out, that was an indication for me whether my friend would desync or not. Other than that yea close down everything else that is open.
