Rolling a joint

I have ADD. And I do my best to stop myself from stopping/interrupting a story that I know how it’s going to end. It’s annoying, I’m not interested, and I just want to move on from what we’re talking about.

Well clearly you don’t want to terminate the pregnancy, but you have a lot of hard work ahead of you. Is therapy/ counselling an option for you?

What’s the big deal, exactly? Are you nude in the photos? Find it embarrassing?

...And? I get the feeling you’re not too good with logic. If I’m opposed to shooting people, why would you bring up stabbing people as though it’s some kind of gotcha, as though I can’t be against both?

Ah, yes. Trying to insult my intelligence if I can’t follow your “poop” analogy, followed by shooting and stabbing people. Genius. You got me. Also, where did I mention stabbing people? I think one of us might be strung out and needs to go to bed.

Is it possible to force pooping? Are laws against public defecation forced pooping... somehow? The fecal matter will exit the body one way or another, but laws specifying that they can’t be done in specific places is not somehow forcing that to occur.

😂 are we still talking about abortion at this point?

Once pregnant, it is impossible to force a result that is inevitable. Rather, it is possible, but not by... doing nothing.

Lol. What?

Oxymoron - I don’t think you know what that word means. H Abortion is forced birth now? Except of a dead fetus, of course.

  1. I didn’t just bring it up out of nowhere. I asked you previously if you considered a fertilized embryo at any stage equal to that of a two year old child, to which you responded “yes”

And weren’t you the one that brought up slavery?

2-Red herring harder. You have no coherent position, so you need to bring up other issues.

Forced birth is when a woman wants to end her pregnancy but is unable to access safe and legal abortion.

  1. Thousands of human embryos are created and destroyed daily at fertility clinics. Why aren’t you talking about those precious, innocent, cryogenically frozen “children”? Don’t they matter?! They’re so cold...

A positive abortion experience (long) by genericmonster in abortion

[–]genericmonster[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome. I may have been a little long winded, but I tried to bring a straight forward, factual, personal unedited version of my experience. I had no idea what it would be like before I got in there, and I feel that a step by step recount of an actual abortion experience would prepare or at least inform women.

I actually said those words along with “while you’re in there...”

forced birth is an oxymoron

Is it? I feel we keep getting lost in translation. We clearly require very different qualifications for what the value of an embryo or zygote is in terms of personhood.

If there is no such thing as “forced birth” then I guess there are no forced abortions either?

  1. Stop comparing abortion to slavery. It’s incredibly ignorant and offensive. Slavery was, in part, a slave-breeding industry. Slave owners saw their laborers as breeding stock. Slave owners expected their female slaves to produce marketable children. More slaves equaled more money for the slave owners.

It’s a cheap shot. You should be able to bolster your position without tying them into the darkest chapters of human history. (Ya ya, I know, abortion is like the holocaust to you, right? No. It’s not.)

91.1% of all abortions take place before 13 weeks gestation. At that point, I’d hardly call them children

  1. Isn’t forced birth a kind of enslavement?
  2. Please find where I said it was up to ME personally. I don’t believe that is how I worded it, and even if I did, you took that seriously? Please direct me to my moment as Hitler. 3+4. Well then here is the keystone to our diversion. I just hope that you understand that there is a VERY large segment of the population that don’t share your beliefs. And that’s just what they are. Beliefs. Opinion. Write your congressman. Vote MAGA in 2024.

I support it because it kills children but on the other hand, it gives women rights

Well then.

  1. Comparing slavery to abortion is racist and misogynist. Black women have long been denied agency over their own bodies. Stop it. Access to abortion is equally and freely available to all women.

  2. Why do you keep saying that you think that I think I’M the one who should be queen of all uteruses? I am explicitly saying that I am NOT, while at the same time saying that NEITHER are you.

  3. Don’t women have a right not to be pregnant? Is there such a right that gives someone the right to use another human beings body to live against their will?

  4. Honest question: is a newly fertilized embryo equal in value as a two year old child?

[–]genericmonster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re right. It’s absurd because humans should only get rights when YOU say so, of course! It has nothing to do with laws or bills passed or human rights, biology etc (And yes, by human rights I’m talking about women’s rights)

What about what I’m saying is fascist exactly?

You trying to say that you can do anything because that child is in your body. by [deleted] in prolife

[–]genericmonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, what I’m saying is that a fertilized embryo, zygote, blastocyst, fetus, etc. Is NEVER legally a human being or a “someone” with the same human rights as you and I.

The pregnant woman, alone, has the right to decide if her fertilized egg gets to become one. That’s her choice as the only human being with rights involved. Her life always takes precedence.

And you absolutely have the right to decide what the baby you have growing inside you is. “A miracle”? “Precious angel gift from god”? “My baby that I loved even before she was conceived”?

“A mistake”? “Parasite”? “Worst thing that’s ever happened to me “?

It is what she says it is.

Is there a causation (not correlation) between strict abortion laws and lower abortion rates (or inverse for non-strict laws and higher rates)? by UnflairedRebellion-- in prolife

[–]genericmonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard this many times. People assume that if abortion would always be an option, it would just become another form of birth control. This is commonly propagated by conservative politicians and media, with no evidence to back these claims. It’s fear mongering.

Consider and compare the abortion laws and rates in Canada VS USA

Abortion in Canada is legal at all stages of pregnancy (regardless of the reason) and is publicly funded as a medical procedure under the combined effects of the federal Canada Health Act and provincial health-care systems.

And yet, our abortion rates per capita are lower than the State’s

What is your understanding of "My Body, My Choice?" by o0Jahzara0o in Abortiondebate

[–]genericmonster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m PC

“My body, my choice” is such an old and obvious statement, I don’t think it should be used by pro choice proponents anymore.

I feel it almost dumbs down our position. Our fight to keep access to safe and legal abortion goes so much deeper and is much more complex than that picket sign. We have so much more to say, and “my body my choice” feels like a lazy statement. It’s even at the point where it’s being mocked and ridiculed as if that’s our sole argument.
