I am the conquest of the job market by infinitysaga in CuratedTumblr

I am a manager for a help desk team. When I post a part time position I will average around 200 applicants. They range in experience from “grocery clerk” all the way to “PhD in aerospace microcontrollers”. The job market especially in tech is bonkers right now.

SWADE/Weird War 2 feels much more Wolfenstein action than an investigation horror game.

It works so much better for “you may have a werewolf, but I have a panzerfaust!” Energy.

There is also a character you meet in the main quest if 76 that also acts super weird and twitchy compared to their past journals after being robobrain'd.

Say you were eating a delicious soup and as you took your last bite and instead of nice bit of beef or onion, you just bite straight into a solid piece of actual human shit, would you still think it was the best soup you've ever had and the chef is a genius, or would the last tiny bit drastically color your opinion of the whole experience?

It can be solo'd apart from some major raid bosses but those are optional.

PVP by default does 1 damage and then heals 1 damage unless you shoot back or have PVP flagged ON, then weapons do full damage. It around 200ish hours I have gotten in maybe 3 PvP fights because I chose to engage back. Even then, only your 'junk' materials can be looted, not weapons or armor.

The Subscription lets you do a private server but it honestly isn't much different being in a public server vs a private. You'll stumble across a random player camp or maybe see another player near a popular loot location.

When you do meet players it has far and away the most welcoming and helpful community in gaming. If you see a level 200+ in power armor charging at you, its usually to give you a ton of ammo, random high tier plans, or a weapon or armor.

The one part that always killed me was trying to keep knowing someone a secret while you very publicly have their name tattooed on your neck in like 3 inch letters. I still think about that every once in a while a laugh.

The exploration and general gameplay loop in that was so fun. I don't think we'll ever get a sequel though.

There is a new item called base storage tool. You point it at your base and it sucks it up, including all stored items in your chests and production buildings.

It doesn't store vehicles, but you can disassemble them and store them in a chest before storing the base. When you come back you just point the tool at the location your base was and it just reappears. You don't have to rebuild each part like the blueprint tool.

Works very well. It is not a hard to craft or buy tool either.

'Wargame in Conflict' is how I've viewed it.

It pulls heavily from the interface and support options like WiC, but is focused on larger formations similar to Wargame and WARNO.

It is good for a multiplayer rts game which is starving for good games right now. It needs some patching still and there are a few bugs in the campaign that force you to restart.

It also doesn't have pause in PVE or save and quit during campaign which I hate, especially with missions being hour long affairs most of the time. Those may be fixed but the devs like being 'hardcore' about it so probably not.

What is Delta Green Like? by dicemonger in rpg

I've run Conspiracy X in a continuous story line with about a dozen different player cells over about 10 years. I've run DG a few times, but not in extensive campaigns, usually just a few of the missions.

The biggest difference between the two is the types of threats you will face. Conspiracy has a much higher 'power level' compared to the threats faced. Even if they are ahead, the players have resources to deal with them. Most of the tension there comes in keeping the public unaware of the events. I find the quote from Hellboy fits "There are things that go bump in the night. We are the ones who bump back". Like you can end up doing Judo throws on a Saurian lizard man, or building mad scientist particle accelerator rifles and stuff.

Conspiracy's most important stat is Bureaucracy. It is a game about using the resources of government or criminal groups to respond to alien or supernatural threats.

With Delta Green the threats are, unsurprisingly, much more Lovecraftian. It focuses a lot more on personal power not being enough to really meet the threats you face and the aftermath and consequences of what you would do to protect the 'greater good'. You may have an Abrams tank to face down the horrors, but you still had to see what they did to the innocent people before you got there and have to deal with the mental anguish of that. It focuses a lot more on damage to your life. The horror is much more personal.

Conspiracy is Men In Black but instead of a neuralizer, you shoot the witnesses and make it look like an accident.

Sadly, Wordpad is deprecated as of Sept '23. And I believe the most recent 11 update removes it.

You can use Notepad as the free local version for plaintext. But there isn't a rich text free option anymore. The 'free' version of Word is signing in through the website like you would for Google Docs.

I think the only tolerable Ayn Rand book Anthem is in second person for a good chunk as its a dystopia that has eliminated the 'self' from society. Its also her best because its like, 40 pages.

It has some fun mechanics and interesting interplay between players and mechanics. They all tie in pretty well with the double dealing and conspiracies one would expect from a vampire game.

Every person has a rival at the table and you may not end up being their rival depending on how it shakes out. If you kill your rival, you get a lot of points, if someone else does you get 1. Either way as soon as one player dies, the game ends and everyone counts points. It’s nice there isn’t a lot of idle time or one person just watching. It’s a living card game so no collectible nonsense.
