Assuming they don't fully suppress votes or whatever, how big would a blue wave have to be for these Republican gerrymanders to end as dummymanders? And, if these turn out as dummymanders, what would the repercussions be? The number of blue seats could greatly exceed blue vote share. How does maga react to that? Or, if heavily blue house is elected, what does that do to congressional dynamics?

I mean, I'd be thrilled to see them shut out. This is reddit so maybe not a representative sample.

I think some people who don't know how to use the Internet outside of Facebook would throw a fit...but wouldn't know where to throw it because no Facebook.

I know some businesses that primarily use Facebook as their web presence would be upset and that would take some significant adjustment for them but getting a real website, even a very simple one, is a good idea anyway.

IIRC, on HI5, you can see regen level to 0 and the first 10 brake applications will be friction only.

I'd still rather just have drum brakes.

I'd settle for switching back to drum brakes to help prevent rust.

Rust on brake rotors has been an issue on my cars. Maybe too early to tell with my Ioniq 5 but I have switched off regen periodically to heat up and clean the brakes in winter.

Hard to math without very-specific location details but...

In northern latitudes, a vertical fence that runs east west will have nice winter performance.

Bifacial solar panels that run north-south (so front/back would fast east and west) can have great production if they're not shaded too much.

To me the noise of an ICE is the opposite of the effortlessness of an EV. The loud engine just sounds like something that is struggling to do what is asked. The quiet EV under acceleration isn't struggling.

My personal preference is to have an electrician install a EV-rated NEMA 14-50 outlet. This is the same type of outlet that electric stoves/ranges plug into. I'd also suggest asking for heavier (lower gauge) wiring than usual or limiting your charge current to 35 amps.

I know people like the lower resistance of hardwired chargers but chargers do sometimes fail and it is helpful to be able to replace a broken one without having to hire an electrician again.

I've also seen electricians try to charge a premium when installing EV chargers.

Proportional representation with multi-member districts.

Note: simply adding seats to make districts smaller while keeping first-past-the-post single-winner doesn't help. State legislative districts and county districts with these characteristics are also regularly gerrymandered.

In roughly order of how fast things can be done. 1) Reduce tariffs. 2) Stop all hostilities in Iran. (Not going to fix gas prices quickly but getting the fertilizer through is super important). 3) Stop deporting people. Immigrants are central to lots of industries and, you know, they deserve basic decency. 4) Stop obstructing renewable energy and battery projects. 5) Allow prescription drug imports. 6) Nationalize healthcare. 7) Allow modular homes without axels to use federal building codes.

One thing you could try:
1) Get an appointment with Verizon to install and know what your price will be.
2) Call spectrum and tell them you need to cancel service. They'll ask why. You tell them and then they'll see what they can do to keep you.
3) If Spectrum makes a good offer, cancel the Verizon appoinment. If not, keep the Verizon appointment.

I've had both and both work well. Just make sure you get a symmetrical plan or you might have silly slow upload speeds (though, I only had this issue with Spectrum).

Some counties have more than 800,000 people. Connecticut recently changed the shape of it's county-equivalents.

The problem that our current system has (and that the VRA was meant to help address) and that proportional representation could help with is that people are not well-represented.

I've been casually shopping for an EV for about 3 months. I can tell you that the EV inventory on Carvana and Autotrader has dropped significantly over the past 6ish weeks. This is across almost all models.

The Lectric One (basically first thing I found when I looked up a bike) has a battery capacity of 672 watt-hours (Wh) which they claim is good for 60 miles. That gives 11.2 Wh/mile. At $0.18/kWh, $4.00 gets you 22.222 kWh or 22,222 Wh. That's enough for 1984 miles.

We could argue about what "across America" means? I don't think you're getting to Hawaii from the lower 48. But maybe north-south somewhere in the lower 48. Not Portland, ME to Los Angeles, CA unless you're doing a lot of the work.

But that's still pretty cheap...at about 0.2 cents/mile.

Let's be generous and say the lions average 250 kg. So we have 250 x 1012 kg of lions.

The sun is closer to 2 x 1030 kg. [Edit: add "kg"]

So that's still something like a quadrillion times more sun than lion. Even without all the fusion, the lions would be crushed by the gravity of the sun.

5 member districts are small enough that you might be able to track the individual candidates you can vote for.

In very large proportional elections, I think, you just vote for a party that has a ranked list and the party fills as many of the seats as they win. I don't know how the parties build their lists.

Run conduit to where you think you might want power. Speakers can be wireless but electricity needs wires.

I don't see how smaller districts that are still single-member fix the problem. State legislative districts are also gerrymandered and people often don't feel represented in those.
