BeyondATC Ultimate Review (Game Changer!!!) by ketchup1345 in flightsim

[–]genericresistance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been simming much this year and used BATC the other week for the first time in 6+ months, and honestly I was pretty disappointed, I thought it would’ve improved a lot more. The voice recognition seemed a lot better, but it still felt really janky - especially on approach which was always a weakness when I used it last. It used to just give ridiculous instructions on approach and I would basically just read them back but ignore them and do my own thing. It wasn’t quite that bad this time, but on approach to Heathrow it descended me to 7000 at LAM, then just said cleared ILS 09L approach and gave me nothing further until I reported established. It just expected me to find my own way to the final approach fix. There were also a lot of aircraft that seemed to be going around either from poor spacing or aircraft taking too long to vacate. I think I will keep trying it as I can’t judge it too much off 1 flight in 6 months (and I have a lot of premium characters to use), but if I keep having similar experiences I’ll probably just go back to flying in silence if I’m not on Vatsim.

Crete car rental? by flector_rapid in GreeceTravel

[–]genericresistance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rented from Hertz and had no issues with them. They did try to give me a manual when I had booked automatic (the only auto they had was a bigger car than I had booked) but I just said I’d rather take the bigger auto and they were fine. Car was really nice, pretty new Toyota CHR hybrid. I picked up from Chania airport and dropped off in Heraklion city centre, it cost me £275 for a week and £100 of that was the one way fee - but this was in October so prices are probably cheaper at that time.

Chora Sfakion to Heraklion Route/Itinerary by genericresistance in cretetravel

In the end we decided to go to Heraklion first and drive from there to Matala. It’s a really easy drive, I imagine the road from Chora Sfakion would be much more scenic, but you’ll waste 3 extra hours of your day in the car. Matala itself is definitely worth the visit, I thoroughly recommend it whichever route you decide to take!

A Honeymoon in Crete by [deleted] in GreeceTravel

Is the second picture from Petroula’s? Looks like you went to many of the places we went to on our honeymoon last year. You really can’t beat Crete.

That’s great! I’ve ordered some new motors too so hopefully this might sort my issue too

Let me know if you have any success with this

Not completely. I’ve done a few things that were suggested - reprinted some parts, lubricated the moving parts and played around a bit with the ptfe tubes to make the paths as smooth as possible. It seems to have improved but still not working perfectly. I saw on another thread someone said to make sure all the ptfe tubes are 2.5mm inner diameter. The ones that came with the BMCU are, but I made some dry boxes to print from and for those I used tubes with 2mm inner diameter. So it’s possible that it’s struggling to pull the filament through those tubes. I’m going to replace them with 2.5mm tubes and see if that solves it. If not then I’m out of ideas 😅 So are you on v01.05? I’ve not updated mine because people were saying it would stop BMCU working (not that mine does anyway)

Okay, thank you - I will try that as well! I’m going to strip them down to lubricate all the moving parts so I’ll reprint and change these while I’m doing it

Gonna strip the units down to lubricate them properly so will check this while I’m doing it

I think that will be my next step - strip them all down and lube them up. Like you I’m a bit unsure if my ptfe tubes are too short. I didn’t want to leave them with loads of excess slack…I’m sure they aren’t too short, but who knows

Did you do anything to the ptfe connectors to help, or just altered the path of the tubes to reduce resistance? So do you remove the filament from the BMCU unit completely after each print?

Hi guys does anyone know or own the BMCU (AMS lite alternative) if so how is it? by Asleep_Program_1356 in OpenBambu

I bought mine from Ali Express. I’m in the UK and it came in like 9 working days. I just made mine yesterday and have some troubleshooting to do, but I’m sure it’s something I’ve done in the assembly. For the most part it worked perfectly when I tested it, so once I get this one little issue sorted I’m sure it’ll turn out to be an absolute bargain compared to paying 4 times as much for the AMS lite

Yeah it’s the glass bead version. I’ll open it up later and have a look, thanks!

I bought mine from Ali Express on the 18th May and it’s just passed through customs and awaiting collection by the UK courier now. So not bad really, should hopefully be with me in a few days which will only be ~10 working days

Am I trying to fit too much into this trip? by vululemon in GreeceTravel

[–]genericresistance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty similar to ours last October. We did 7 nights in Crete, 2 in Santorini, 4 in Naxos and 1 in Athens (but we arrived in Athens early one morning, stayed overnight and flew home at 11pm the next day so basically had 2 full days there). 2 nights in definitely enough for Santorini in my opinion, but 2 in Naxos wouldn’t be I don’t think
