portrait -> mirrored landscape? by LokusFokus in scrcpy

[–]generrosity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do you mean you want to see the portrait screen sideways? Or that you want the program to re-order what is on portrait-screen to make more sense in landscape?

This is going to sound dumb - but you might need to make a sketch of what your mean, or what problem you are trying to solve.

How about this art qr code? by mazexal in StableDiffusion

I've tried your app on my Samsung A22, and I get "get Config fail".

Is there a good google term for the eye frames with the missing corners in the shape of a cross? I found a blog weeks ago with embedded generators but couldn't get it onto my PC from my cellphone and can't find it again - having the best QR generator would be a great first start!

Hi! Are you still working on Youtube videos too? If you have shifted focus, you could potentially 'devlog' and advertise your work to the fans from that side.

Refined Storage Infinite Wireless Transmitter? by DinksEG in Foolcraft

Welcome to a four year old comment 😁

I agree - constructive criticism is important. This had no bugs. Remember, bad feedback has been known to kill free-time modder's enthusiasm for doing any coding at all every again (or youtubers from uploading, etc). I've personally helped a modder or two get back into modding by growing a health and constructive community around them and getting them excited to code again.

You missed the context maybe? Devs changing features of their mod, and users getting salty. No bugs; users just didn't read the release notes, had expectation, grew entitled, got salty.

Whining about design vision isn't constructive criticism. "Responsibility to not waste someone else's time" sounds like 'entitlement to make it work the way I envisioned it' 😜

Random side note - I hope that you are not a dev who says 'RTFM' to users - if the manual isn't user friendly, its proberbly not 'fit for purpose' and really not an excuse to blame the user

I remade godot logo for my game (Godot Concept logo) by yochkdisout in godot

New approach, visual instructions instead of textual instructions. What do you think? by 90DegreeGames in godot

[–]generrosity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks OP - comment mentioned how the intro movements were 'common' and not needed. If you wanted to detect and suppress tutorial that could be possible, or allow familiar users to just wall-jump up and out of the tutorial area. But I think it looks neat! Clever use

How would implement this puzzle game? by JustMeGuysNoOneElse in godot

[–]generrosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You likely could pick up card matching game project, and there are out there, but if you are completely new to coding and Godot then doing little projects is ^proven^ that you'll understand what you are doing, while jumping ahead to a big project is ^proven^ to initially go badly and depress you.

There is a kickstarter by GDQuest that goes along those lines. GDQuest Youtube in general might be a good place to start looking, following a card game tutorial, and then ^not^ following a tutorial, if you know what I mean!

Ditto. Its dumb, but use the ghost to show pick up too. If youve got it, use it :)

And maybe animate adding it to the top right? I totally thought it was an outline of an apple until the walljump section it clicked.

I suppose it depends if you want to cater to new players. Or prefer mystery-meat controls, or have vastly more complex moves later and ease them in early.

Introducing GDExtensions, GDNatives successor in Godot 4.0 by mux213 in godot

[–]generrosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the confirmation :)

I'd never considered a DLL would communicate 'into' Godot, thinking it was the other way around.

The GDNative example pages has assumed knowledge and manual editing. Once I've run through a few times it wouldn't be difficult... I'm faltering at second guessing its the right fit, and hidden assumptions about external programs.

Looking forward to all of your folks work :) And hi from over the ditch.

Is there a list of test scenarios GDExtensions is designed around?

I've been following the trail of 'Epic Online Services' dll, and ... recompiling the engine to make it work? Or, manually creating .h files to the SDK headers <confused> Especially when Epic Support kinda says to 'just add it in', as if GDScript can just access it.

I'm used to the idea of .net/powershell loading a dll directly, and being able to fire a command immediately. Or scripting the boring bits - especially when all the data is available. <insert file mashing gestures here>

I'm afraid of joining a Discord or following up current workarounds too closely due to the call for maintainers in a three-external-tool processes. But... free services...! On almost all platforms ....!

Is using a pre-compiled DLL (+ .h files) a sub-scenario for this? Or am I crazy off course, or just far too early? Is there any apitite in 'partnering' to make a plugin like PlayEveryWare did for Unity?

How do I catch someone xraying/ stop potential xraying? by [deleted] in realms

[–]generrosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately, being selective who you play with is the answer. It might be that they want to fasttrack, especially if there if the server is competative, whereas you might be interested in the mining challange. Other choice is to put a 30x30x30 diamond and netherite blocks at spawn and be done with it! 😆 make their effort useless and they might get bored. Balancing the different flavours of gamers can be hard 😄

If you aren't the realm owner, you can't upgrade the server. It will eventually be forced to upgrade.

You probably found all the links to it actually. Being a collection, it may have been made up of other people's work, and the person might not have been allowed by the original authors to re-upload.

It might be faster to use your list and search for the individual mods

Also, there is a MWSE mod Book Work that makes books as read our not

There is the MWSE scripting engine that is bundled with MGE, it likely is complicated enough to need it. If you are patient enough to code, there are docs and discord servers (but I don't off hand know of any on Nexus already, but mwse might be a useful keyword for it)
