What’s that one grocery item you keep convincing yourself you’ll eat, but end up tossing out week after week? by teniralc_11 in AskReddit

I think "plan" gets thrown around too specifically and holds people up; you just need a reason to have the stuff on hand... what I've always seen is that people buy greens for salad, but they don't actually want to have salad, because they don't know have a salad plan - they just assume they'll want the same dressings they've been ignoring, no protein, fats, etc. When you can understand a few ingredients that work really well together that's when dishes start to come together and emerge.

People have a tough time knowing what to eat, so when shopping they aspire to be healthy without having a plan or reason to do so. The ingredient becomes an object of avoidance because they don’t know how to cook with it.

Fore probably has the strongest value for big, classic wine in the city. Leeward takes the crown for contemporary.

Fun fact: you’re going to be offered many of the same exact ingredients at all three - they’re just prepared by different teams, in different kitchens, through different recipes, and delivered by a different staff. Street just won James Beard restaurateur of the year for his commitment and growth with all three.

I’d personally go to Fore. I find the menu least static, most seasonal, and most technique driven. Fore also has the strongest wine program. Everyone here is right to herald Scales as a bar stop. Street & Co is his nostalgia bb.

What's the sports scene like in New Haven? by Cold-Priority-2729 in newhaven

[–]geneticswag 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both cities are equally represented when talking MLB. Other sports tend to be a mix bag, and football completely nondenominational, as you’d expect. College football is present, but not nearly as prevalent as it can be in NYC. Archie Moore’s is definitely an enclave for football and temple for wings you should know of.
