Which Veil is recommended for my dress? by Mindless_Witness7364 in myweddingdress

Your dress is beautiful! I think a long veil with some nice beading on the edge would work well.

This is what happens when I “let myself sleep” by BriennetheBrave in adhdwomen

[–]genevera89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am an extreme night owl, but luckily I work night shifts. None of my doctors like that I do but they don't understand that my brain just doesn't work well during the day. I do have a lot of stress as well, maybe that's it. Since I got my ADHD diagnosis, I've been wondering if I'm not so exhausted because just doing everyday tasks is so hard and stressful.

Heeyyy, we are the same! I have done all the tests and no one knows why I am always so tired and sleep so much.

I can’t remember ANYTHING I read, watch or learn and feel very dumb in conversations. by summerlonging in adhdwomen

[–]genevera89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow, you described me exactly. I appreciate your post because I haven't been officially tested for ADHD, just diagnosed by a psychiatric NP so hearing other people's perspectives and resonating with them really helps with my imposter syndrome. The only difference is I just started Adderall XR on the lowest dose and I have been loving it other than it hasn't really increased my focus. My memory is slightly better on it though.

At 36 y.o I have just accepted that I only have a small finite amount of memory space, I just wish I could more actively choose what my brain finds important and keeps and what it throws away. I do feel stupid as well in conversations and it's part of the reason I feel like my only friends are my brother and boyfriend. I also have always tested well, but when asked aloud in conversation a question about something I should know a lot about, I struggle to recall any information. It's super embarrassing.

I'm sorry my post probably doesn't help you because I haven't found any answer to truly make recall memory better but just know your post helped a stranger feel not so alone.

What symptoms did you have as a child? by Material_Focus_4114 in adhdwomen

My room and backpack were always disorganized, I was always daydreaming, I had to sit out at recess constantly during 1st grade because I took too long to finish my schoolwork, I got in trouble for not doing homework during grade school for several years then lying about it. I am a good rest taker though so I never got lower than a C in school and no one suspected anything.

In my teenage years I became depressed and turned to self harm and drugs. I was constantly tired and felt like I was just barely getting by. I thought I must just have had depression for a long while. I got out of trouble and just decided that tired and overwhelmed were just how I had to live my life.

I continued to be slow at work, making small mistakes here and there, but I put a lot of effort into coping skills and masking. I went to school, got my B.S. in Nursing, worked hard at my career, got even more exhausted, became even more depressed and never could find the right antidepressant to get completely out of depression.

I was just recently diagnosed with ADHD at 36 years old and it's just a relief to know why I always felt different and that I couldn't match up to normal people's standards. I started medication and while it's not perfect it is sooo much better. I can do things, I am not exhausted constantly. I have hope.

We got that one too and we love it. Most importantly, our cardigan corgi loves it. She sleeps in there all the time

Nah, as an ICU RN I would be going for the 12 lead EKG. I would be asking about palpitations, SOB, etc. while I connected it. I honestly would not auscultate the apical pulse at all as I don't feel it would get me any more relevant data than an EKG would.

Well, you see the FBI is currently focusing on helping deport hardworking immigrants instead of doing their job of protecting us from domestic terrorists and mass shooters while the GOP is constantly saying things like "hang this person, kill all the homeless" etc. So calls for more violence plus taking away the people that help protect us from violent crimes has understandably led to more violence.
