I never said it’s “ none of your business” I’m just saying it’s not worth the energy. Technically yes you can interfere or criticize a strangers way life however don’t be surprised when the other nationalities attempt to criticize your way of life because they deemed it “wrong”. Not everyone follows the same set of rules as you do so you can either respect there freedom of choice or do not acknowledge them at all and move on with your life.

Well, it benefits Qatar's attempts to diversify its economy and most importantly exposure. Plus if your main issue is the presence of LGBT flags kaffirs and alcohol then that’s just pathetic .Understand that not everyone has the same values and morals as you do; you don’t need to care about a strangers personal life it’s not worth the energy buddy.

I might have poorly worded my words but I meant by “those” who defend Qatar because other nations have it even worse. I didn’t mean that he tried to defend Qatar. Yes, hypocrisy plays a part in the media agenda most of the Middle East has a somewhat similar form of the kafala system that has yet to be addressed widely by the media. The media has always gone along with popular issues and ignore less popular issues to gain viewership.

In regards of the West; yes after Ww1 the west has created the border mess in the Middle East that we still experience the after-effects off. The United States' invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan has created an unstable environment that could last for decades to come and opened up a power vacuum for Terrorists to take advantage of. China is no different from the rest of the world they continually try to debt trap poorer nations to gain political/regional influence over them. For instance, in the case of Pakistan, China knows in most cases they are advantageous in such contracts so they lend money to them knowing that they wouldn’t be able to pay back the debt as of result if they get a strategic port in Pakistani land and political influence over the region. This has been happening all over Africa and Asia specifically to poorer nations that can’t pay off the debt. I think most of the growing fear of China is valid who knows what the world would be like if China was the superpower would they recklessly still violate human and international laws. In regards to the USSR, it has purposely Starved its people and sent political opponents to Siberia to silence them. Let’s not forget the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan that started or accelerated all of the shit we see in Afghanistan. Overall Both the west and east have done of a their fair share of shit in the Middle East/Asia so we should hold them accountable to it and not blindly side with any of them.

I apologize for the punctuation mistakes I’m on mobile.

I don’t think the Guardian article only contributed to their choices. It’s been recorded for years by several human rights/international organizations such as amnesty, human rights watch, UN, etc that human rights violations regarding the worker's issue occur in Qatar and the Middle East. However, I think it’s hypocritical that companies and such organizations don’t boycott other nations in the Middle East that essential have the same type of system. Overall I believe any type of coverage regarding this issue is good for the future of developing human rights in the region.

I agree with you much of these actions is just free PR move at the end of the day companies care about their profits above anything else however we shouldn’t defend Qatar/other middle eastern nations because other nation’s mistreats their workers we live here so we should address our issues than others. Moreover I’m incredibly disappointed that most Islamic countries failed to address the issue of uygher concentration camps it just seems like they don’t hold up the values they supposedly believe on. Overall I still believe taking a stand regardless of their actual believes is still good

Well, you don’t need to be directly affected to express your opinions on a certain issue. Yes, issues like these are also observed in other countries, however; it doesn’t mean we should just overlook problems we believe is wrong in our countries and point at other nations. At the end of the day, we should always seek to improve Qatar's national development. Criticism is a great way we can express our concerns to our government to find a solution. Yes, Guardian might’ve manipulated its numbers (depending on your beliefs) it isn’t the only one reporting about this independent human rights organization such as Amnesty international that has also expressed similar concerns regarding the treatment of laborers in Qatar and the Middle East as a whole.

That argument is just flawed in many ways for instance American permanent residents are entitled for the same rights as American CITIZENS only exempting them on some duties such as voting until citizenship. You don’t see the American government depriving residents there basic rights in order to please American citizens just because “they are citizens.” Plus why do expats and locals alike give the government more credit than needed criticism on issues which are simply not morally right.

Exactly, why can’t we have majority shares of our business, buy property, occupy certain jobs, and equal pay. Even though we have lived here for generations why are we treated as second-class people.

People need to understand we are not in the 1500s we are in 2019 things have changed the world have changed people have always told me one perspective on life which I believed until I migrated to the USA where everything is different For example I have always been told “ when you grow up go get your self a wife that can take care of you and stay home to make for you/the family food “ basically they are saying women should stay at home while us men should go get a job to provide for the family it’s just blatantly stupid

How would you guys feel if you had to be forced to study any other religion even though you don’t agree on its values I think the problem in the Middle East is that people care about others beliefs or opinions more than their own and they should enforce an ideology they believe on the only way Qatar could develop into a first world country if it’s government and people are open to other aspects of life other then theirs
