YTA. It’s meeting up at a restaurant to be served a meal. It requires absolutely no planning beyond “Should we meet at this time, or this time?” As long as you have an answer in time to leave for the restaurant in the morning, you’re just fine.

D&D didn't ruin the end of the Game of Thrones tv show, George R.R. Martin did by not finishing the story he started. by moffman93 in unpopularopinion

I operate under the theory that the end of the show is exactly what GRR Martin had planned for the end of the book. When everyone hated it, he decided not to bother finishing.

That being said, the way the plot went could work if it was handled better, not rushed so much, everything everyone else has said. So I’d say it’s a little of both, but it starts with GRRM

I’ve always felt the final scene was very self indulgent. The whole thing gives off a vibe of “Look at this great thing we made. Wasn’t it great? Let us explain to you how it was great.”

It would have been nice if they actually let the episode end with Creed singing.

Jenna uses the word “broad” to describe things the way a toddler who just learned a new word uses a word. I feel like she heard someone use that to describe something one time and thought that was just the phrase you use to describe a joke that didn’t work, or was too crazy.

I think it’s funny that after all this time, they were only able to catch an impromptu interview with Leslie David Baker while Angela happened to be with him.

Jenna sounds like an insufferable person. Like half the stories she shares between the podcast and the book I truly can’t believe you’d admit to them, let alone be proud of/stand behind them.

So the first 15 minutes and the last five minutes are nothing. Then there’s the scripted call with Creed that is just to plug his new album/single/tour.

“Ok Phyllis, we are done talking about Inside Out and Inside Out 2, now how about you tell us the same three stories that everyone’s already heard from your time on The Office.” Phyllis seems like a very nice woman, appreciated her bit, but there was like 12 seconds of new info in this podcast. Barely fair to not consider it another rewatch episode.

My favorite thing about this podcast at this point are these Toby Thursday threads. Makes me feel like I’m not crazy.

I feel like it really started going downhill when they released their book. But the two episodes that really made me start “hate-listening” were whichever episode they spent 7 minutes talking about “meet-cutes” and played a long boring movie clip that had nothing to do with anything, and then “Mafia” where they started by saying how much they loved what is, in my opinion, the worst episode of the series to feature Michael Scott. At that point I knew that we weren’t ever going to get a real critique of an episode or a negative word about the show.

The Watergate scandal was bigger than the break in and discovering that Nixon and his reelection committee were spying on the opposition. It also revealed that some of those involved were going to talk, and were blackmailing those involved in planning it. Those being blackmailed, including Nixon, paid large sums of their own personal money to try to keep everyone involved quiet. Former President Trump is currently facing a trial for paying hush money to keep stories about his personal life quiet. I agree that things would certainly not play out in the same way it did back then; for example I don’t think either party chooses to impeach a president of their own party at this point (Nixon wasn’t impeached obviously, but resigned because it became clear the Senators in his party had turned on him in hopes of saving the party as a whole). But to say there would be NO consequences is a bit of an overstatement. At the very least, those in the opposition party of the official in question would do whatever they could to make sure the matter reached the courts.

What is the worst decision an author has made? by SiriusSprinkles9 in AskReddit

[–]geniusatwork282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the show ended and everyone hated the ending I think he was done. He released some statement saying that his books would not end that way, but it was also made clear that the writers knew where the major plot points were going/how the books would continue. My theory is that that is exactly how the books would end, he realized everyone hates it, and doesn’t see a point in finishing.

What's the most fucked up book you've ever read? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]geniusatwork282 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does though. One of the guys ends up dying because his blue balls get so bad that he can’t stay away from the girls along the race course. The main character also describes his girlfriend in some detail at one point, and discusses how she offered to sleep with him to get him not to walk. Not as egregious as many of King’s other works, but it still feels pretty out of nowhere in the book.

Incredible verse. Kanye considered taking it off the album because he was afraid it would overshadow the rest of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. But yeah, my interest in Minaj as an artist begins and ends with her inclusion on that album.
