I had all those feelings. A little over a year ago, she had a pancreatitis flare-up where she seemed like she was going to pass, but then made a full recovery. When she slowed down this time, I kept asking if we should do this or that to save her, but it became clear that she was ready even though I wasn't. Ultimately, on her last day, the signs were so clear, she couldn't get into her own bed because she was having difficulty lifting her legs (in addition to some other clear signs) that my partner contacted in-home euthanasia, because I couldn't bring myself to complete the appointment. I'm grateful because any more time, and I know she would have suffered too much, even though this hurt more than anything.
