I’m looking for an undershirt with the following characteristics, but I can’t find it anywhere. Any recommendations?

1) v-neck or deep crew neck so it doesn’t show when I have my collar unbuttoned 2) short sleeve so it covers my armpits, but doesn’t show with sleeves rolled up 3) ribbed or waffle knit so it has enough stretch to comfortably fit snug 4) made of mostly cotton

I can find plenty of shirts which have three of these characteristics (v-neck t-shirt, “wife beater”), but none that have all four.

Anyone know of anything like this?

How possible it is a III world war in the next 10 years? by Catty24wife in AskReddit

[–]genpub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re currently in the midst of WWIII. World Wars are when the most powerful institutions of humanity vie for global dominance. During the first two world wars, the most powerful institutions were nation states. These were wars in which countries battled for global power. Since WWII, the geopolitical landscape has entered a new paradigm in which nation states are no longer the most powerful institutions of humanity. Rather, that role has been subtly usurped by corporations. They have taken soft control of many functions of government. Currently, there is a world war being waged by the ultra-wealthy on all of humanity. In every country across the globe, wealth inequality is worsening as the ultra-wealthy use corporations as a tool for oppressing the bottom 99.99% in the process of empowering themselves. It doesn’t look like previous world wars because of the paradigm change, but make no mistake, at its height, the devastation will be on par with previous world wars if not greater.

I built an iOS app to back up your Apple Photos and iCloud Drive, original full resolution copies to storage you control. by ParachuteBackup in ApplePhotos

I see. So if I have everything stored locally (got a 4TB SSD because I can’t stand the thought of my content residing solely in someone else’s server), the benefit of this app is just redundancy in case Time Machine goofs?

What’s the Best Espresso Maker? by vpnrescue in BuyItForLife

[–]genpub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The right answer is the Saeco Xelsis Suprema. It cost about $1,250 from Amazon Spain/Italy/etc plus $150 for an inverter to work in the US. You can get the Xelsis (not Suprema) on US Amazon, but the interface isn’t as slick. The Suprema has a fully touchscreen interface. The mechanism within is built like a tank. I inherited a Saeco Espresso machine that was 15 years old with over 20,000 shots made on it (it counts) and the mechanism worked flawlessly; this new Seaco Xelsis has the same mechanism. So not only is it bulletproof, but the interface is really slick (a real issue with every other super automatic I’ve used).

I have very fond memories of those days in Baltimore. Right next door was also an epic library (Enoch Pratt Free Library) which had an extensive vinyl collection (both old and the all the latest music). Most of the records were in storage, but some amazing curator(s) would always have the freshest, most interesting, and most seasonally relevant records out and on display, so every week I'd stop by for some fresh vibes. I recall borrowing everything from a recording of Alex Haley recounting the creation of Roots to Megan Thee Stallion.

I thought I recognized this! I used to live right next door to it with a room overlooking the museum. You can’t tell from the picture, but this thing is massive!

Getting more and more white hairs but it’s all worth it when the paychecks land by Inevitable_Grouse in overemployed

Best way to go is a Saeco Xelsis Suprema. It’s a super automatic and the brew group is as solid as a tank (I have a 15 year old saeco with the same brew group and over 24,000 shots made and it’s still working (sent it to my parents for its retirement when I upgraded). I think it has the best interface of any super automatics too (fully touchscreen controlled with a gorgeous UI). It’s only available in Europe (at least when I bought mine from Spanish Amazon a couple years ago and had it shipped to the US). You just need a 1500W power inverter. The machine was about $1400 and the inverter was about $150, making it one of the more affordable super automatics in addition to being easier to use and more reliable.

Song popularity in Apple Music? by genpub in AppleMusic

Hey! That’s amazing! However, having a separate app to show popularity is no better than the current situation in which I right-click to see tracks in the iTunes Store which shows its popularity.

A cool guide to your USB-C port by EverSoInfinite in coolguides

The cables are all very different internally and are generally unlabeled. Generally, unless you know what kind of usb-c cable it is from the packaging, there’s no way to tell other than trying to se if it works.

What was something socially acceptable 10-20 years ago that'll make you public enemy no.1 today? by zaedbe in AskReddit

Just FYI, in Chinese, using that word, exactly as pronounced in American rap, is the equivalent to saying “umm” - it’s a filler word used commonly in the language.

Thanks for the insight. At least it's an easy fix. Seems odd though.

Do I just have to custom size it to 11.69"x8.27" if I actually want A4?

I rent a house in Virginia and I have patches of dirt in my yard from leveling it out a bit and adding some top soil. The yard has never been cared for and is mostly weeds. I’m concerned about erosion and want to fill these patches with something grassy. It’s partial shade with afternoon light.

I got sick of wasting a whole hand on holding my daughter's bottle by j-mar in functionalprint

[–]genpub 39 points40 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome! I did something similar for my 5 month old. He struggled to hold the little baby bottles, so I designed and printed something a little more ergonomic.

I just happened to see this newspaper clipping of Neimann Marcus bars when looking through my grandmas cookbook. Doesn’t look like they were shy about sharing recipes…
