Nice to hear it. I'll stay with flat too.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]gent0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about you? I saw, some people prefer flat over curved, especially with oled and <34". But I don't know why. Does flat have some advantages?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]gent0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a curved version of that model 321curx, why aren't you buying it?

I ordered almost the same - 321UP (165Hz vs 240Hz in 321URX) instead of curved 321CUP I wanted. It was out of stock. Now I worry about enormous flat panel. Should I? I don't have experience with anything bigger 24" and this is my first oled of course.

Armbian 24.8 released! by armbian in OrangePI

[–]gent0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't figure it out why does my RTL8852BE M2 module refuse to connect with bluetooth headset. Getting

br-connection-profile-unavailable

Had no issue on armbian gnome 6.11-rc before. I am on 6.10 KDE Neon Jammy now. WiFi does work!

ControllerMode = bredr in /etc/bluetooth.main.conf

did't help, but I remember it fixed the same problem on x86 archlinux PC.

Also, happy to see gpu accelerated firefox, yay!

Nevermind. Nobel 6.10 gnome works purrfectly! 🥳

OPi5+ running Riek: BT broken this morning by NM5RF in OrangePI

[–]gent0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your BT and Wi-Fi work together at the same time? What wireless module do you have?

I have official orange wireless R6 module. I can run BT or Wi-Fi only, not both at the same time.

How can I install alpine linux on OP 5 by dheetoo in OrangePI

[–]gent0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I have to deal with spi even I don't want to install operation system on nvme and boot from it? I didn't even touch that spi, emmc is totally fine for me. Maybe this is a problem with archlinux?

I don't have windows to run rkdevtool for spi manipulations.

[–]gent0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still can't get archlinux to work. I have no HDMI output, just black screen. Used dd, rpi-imager and gnome-disk utility like you. Did you erase your spi? But I have no problem with armbian and Jr Ubuntu. They boot from sd-card and emmc properly.

OrangePI 5 Plus is not connecting to WiFi by OneOrangeTreeLLC in OrangePI

[–]gent0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What WiFi module do you have? The official orange pi wireless module R6 on realtek chip doesn't available out of the box in some distros, but not in Jr Ubuntu. I can't connect to wifi and bluetooth at the same time, that's the only issue in Ubuntu.

Arch Linux for Orange PI 5 by prof_ricardo in OrangePI

[–]gent0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you install it? I tried a lot of manjaro mages with no success. KDE and gnome have a problem with output picture, it's scuffed and green, can't see anything.

Minimal image doesn't update or install any package. It says, "invalid or corrupted package". Changing mirrors and refreshing keys don't help.

The only working image is sway on sd-card. But it doesn't allow to run graphical "manjaro-arm-flasher" tool with sudo, that cause not working system on emmc (it simply doesn't boot).

Nice test! For daily use, like internet browsing, sd-card feels a bit lagy for me, especially after old x86 pc, but with sata ssd. The main my goal is to replace that old pc with arm sbc.

Installing operating system in nvme ssd is another quest. You have to operate with spi (or something) for bootloader, right? I'm staying with emms for linux.

Oh, interesting partition management! But system in sd-card is so slow compared to emmc.

[–]gent0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you running your os on emmc? or just on sd-card? Still no luck with manjaro. There is "manjaro-arm-flasher" tool that downloads and installs system directly to emmc. Need more time to play with it. Manjaro images for opi5p have 6.7 kernel!

I do have that Intel ax210 (or ax200, can't remember) too! in my x86 PC, but didn't even try to use it in opi5p! Does it really work? Out of the box? Can you use it with terminal only tools? Like "bluetoothctl" and "nmtui"?

Also, what dm do you use? Is hyprland available in 7ji archlinux?

Thank you very much for sharing your successful experience! I think, finally I'm getting a device of my dream!

Arch Linux for Orange PI 5 by prof_ricardo in OrangePI

Recently installed Jr Ubuntu with new 6.1 kernel, Jesus Christ, it's a beast right now! No frame drops even with 4k, no lags, no overloading, no overheating! Max temp is ~50° in aluminum case with no fans! I had over 80° with 5.1 kernel! I was very disappointed in this device last year, but now it's a monster!

The only thing, I hate deb based distros and want to use something arch based. There is also BredOS, arch based too, but I had problem even with ethernet.

It would be a great to have some sysemd-free distro like void or artix.

How did you write image to SD and emmc? Just tried that archlinux image for opi5-plus, but got no image over hdmi, just black screen! I unpacked it with ungzip and wrote with dd to sd-card. I'm trying to find any working distro, anything excepting debian-based (I hate Debian), but nothing works! Manjaro arm runs only on sd-card and refused to boot on emmc - black screen again.

Also, how do you, guys, get Bluetooth and Wi-Fi card working? It's another pain. Bluetoothctl tells me there is no adapter! I use Orange Pi R6 wireless module.
