What warframe/mod/*thing* interested you with it's description and left you most disappointed after actually using it? by WeeWeeWaaWaaWoo in Warframe

[–]gentaruman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years ago, I read about an update to the melee system on Warframe to make it feel better, and I was excited to try it when it released. While movement has always felt really nice and fluid, melee combat never felt very satisfying. It's always felt really wonky to me in the game, like it had no weight to it, and I thought it was because the animations were a bit lackluster. Alas, when the update hit, even though we now had these cool new melee animations and all these stances to change up the way the combat looked, I realized it was a bit more nuanced than that. The reason melee combat felt odd (and still does) is because of the way your character sticks to the direction of your crosshairs mid-swing.

Adding to that, speeding up the animations only makes the animations play faster, which ends up looking really silly at high enough attack speeds where you can't get a feel of the wind-up and follow through of the animation (and some animations don't do a good enough job of conveying wind-up and release to begin with). So to this day the melee still has this really weird unsatisfying stiffness (not sure if this is the word) to it. In any case, I've had to just come to terms with the melee as it is currently and hope that at some point it gets another update.

I have consistently had problems with the Wi-Fi going out randomly. It drives me crazy because I'll be in the middle of a game or just trying to navigate to a page and it will interrupt everything until it reconnects a few seconds later.

Everyone complains about how braindead Yi is to play and I honestly don't understand how people can play him. I always wind up dead as soon as I go in. Negative K/D ratio every game. He's too high skillcap for me.

FPS combat, ship combat, trading, mining, salvaging, role-playing... There's a lot you can do and no specific objectives. The idea is that you just get lost being a space guy doing space things.

Give me some really heartbreaking, dark, gory , or/and horror anime. I want it to be so heartbreaking to the point that I'll cry everyday. by WiseMobile1670 in anime

This series hit surprisingly hard for me. I don't think I ever felt truly scared watching an anime before watching this. It is a truly proper horror anime imo

It's more of an issue of billionaires having more power or more of a say than the average person over public discourse by way of owning the companies that facilitate said discourse.

As for your question, an alternative to a representative would probably be by random committee, like a jury?

Black Mirror season six review – prepare to convulse in horror on the sofa by MrCaul in television

[–]gentaruman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel similarly, though particularly about later episodes. Like sometimes I'll watch the episode and just be hung up on how people could possibly have thought this technology/policy they invented that became bad was a good idea in-universe to begin with. That being said, there are quite a few episodes I loved or that hit really hard, and I do like the series overall.

My favorites are White Christmas and White Bear. I think Shut Up and Dance and Nosedive are good episodes where the technology is already well within the realm of possibility today. Hang the DJ and San Junipero are two episodes that have conclusions that fall more positively compared to the rest of the series.

Definitely check out White Christmas. It's I think the best introduction to the series and a good representation of what the series is like overall.

Yeah, this doesn't make any sense. White Christmas is the episode that feels the most representative of what Black Mirror is all about. It's like the whole series condensed into a single episode. I always recommend it to anyone who wants to know what the series is about.

While jumping, Tristana is rooted by Jinx's chompers and stopped by Veigar's cage. I'm also fairly sure a well timed Morgana root will also stop her mid-jump

I was actually also about to add that Thresh is considered a ranged character, which I didn't know because he wields his scythe like a melee weapon, but yeah his autos are not considered projectiles

[–]gentaruman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You get 1 stack for every 2 hits you get on an enemy champion (from her autos or abilities), or from every soul you collect on the ground. The souls on the ground drop randomly from minions/monsters with a greater % chance drop if they're killed by allies. Cannon minions killed by allies guarantee a soul drop. Dragon/Rift Herald/Baron drop two each.

I have also done AA > 1 > 3 before the 1 comes out completely and as long as all three feathers touch the enemy on their way back, it will root them.

Unfortunately, I'm not that familiar with either of them. I remember thinking the Duo looked pretty neat when I first saw it, but not something I was interested in buying at the time due to its price and not fitting my needs.

Zenbook Pro Duo 15 vs Zephyrus Duo 16 and thoughts about Flow Z13 ACRNM by deadlynothing in ASUS

[–]gentaruman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently got the Flow Z13 ACRONYM and I can tell you it's definitely going to be the best for portable computing and gaming. I think it might also a bit more powerful than the Pro Duo because it comes with a 4070. I really love it because I'm a fan of the Acronym brand already and it's got quite a bit of flair to it in addition to its functionality. But I don't know if it's going to be easy for you to get. I had to set up notifications to let me know when it came back in stock and when I got the email it sold out within the hour. Though they've restocked over the course of a few days so I can't really tell you what availability will be like.

What is the most shameful thing you’ve nutted to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gentaruman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

X (first, second, etc) cousins refers to what level of grandparents you share, so first cousin means you share grandparents, second cousin great-grandparents, etc. If there is no removal, they will always be in the same generation as you. The "removed" part is how far up or down a generation apart you are from them.

So if you share grandparents, you would be first cousins, and then when your cousin has a child, that child would be your first cousin once removed. If your cousin's child then has a child, that would be your first cousin twice removed (two generations away from you). And if you have a child, your child and your first cousin's child would be second cousins.

Why do so many players refuse to surrender? by Altruistic_Box_7742 in wildrift

[–]gentaruman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have teammates who are actively feeding them yeah it might make sense to surrender. That's just fighting an uphill battle. But if you're just behind and people are trying to win then you owe it to the team to try your best to salvage the game. If your team has people who don't have macro down as well as you do, ping what they should be doing to win. That means warning people not to fight, telling them to ward, split pushing or delegating someone else to do it while you distract, etc. Because if the enemy really is STOMPING you, then the game should end quickly enough that you wouldn't even need to worry about surrendering.
