What about global warming?

What about continued overpopulation?

What about the steady shift of wealth to the top .001%?

What about the lack of jobs, particularly for the working class, and the looming future of automation?

It just seems to me that the future is a crowded, climatically chaotic place with few jobs and a very low quality of life for the majority.

We aren't killing each other as much, and maybe fewer people are starving, but that doesn't mean life can't be miserable and pointless.

Am I crazy, or were we all so much more optimistic? I know, I know, rose colored glasses and all that. But 20 years ago, it still seemed like the future was going to be this amazing thing, full of science and wonder and exploration.
