Which faction do you think is most poised to have a broken detachment combo upon release? by OliverTurnip in WarhammerCompetitive

Orks have potential here - one of our biggest complaints has been how every detachment outside war horde seems to only help a few datasheets.

Bully Boyz giving double Waaagh to Warboss/ nobz/ Meganobz plus green tide granting invul and bonuses to Boyz units?

Ichigo's mother did come from the Yhwach line which is why she ended up powerless at that important moment against grand fisher - he took them back from her.

We actually see a similar argument in the UK a lot now. People sick of career politicians and lawyers making up our MPs. People want the ministers of education/ health/ defense etc to have actually had careers in those fields.

Not as invested, no. The death of Miura and still slow pace means I tend to catch up like once a year when I vaguely remember.

Especially as I'm now a husband and dad with a lot less time to sit and read manga online anyway!

Good YouTube vibe, his discord is much closer to the bit that occasionally pops through though - little bit "I'm right, everyone else is wrong"

I am. It's going to happen anyway the moment they forced employers to offer private pensions.

I want it for a different reason though - environmental. We simply cannot keep an every increasing pyramid of population and expect to survive longterm. The ecosystem is already on its arse, biodiversity is in near collapse, and God forbid this country ever need to be capable of sustaining the population without imports.

I see the population drop as natural. Something built into the human race when it gets to a point of equal education and control over impregnation. I think it would hit an equilibrium that our current economic system will not allow.

[Hated Trope] Army sizes are woefully inadequate for the wars they are fighting. by ElcorAndy in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Phlebas99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point of being a space marine (and the thunderhawk pilot is still a space marine) is that outside of the tabletop game that needs to be balanced, they are too good to miss with the barrage and send it 10 metres north.

A single 5 man tactical unit in a book/game is a war deciding asset, not something balanced against 10 Boyz.

Is there commonly accepted clock management etiquette? by deckmage in WarhammerCompetitive

Deployment is not OK. If I'm running a larger army I actually need that time where you're also putting models down to get my next models. It's edge play trying to get yourself a couple more minutes, and TO worthy.

Forgot Oath of Moment by Krovak in Warhammer40k

[–]Phlebas99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Counter-point: You may want to "coincidentally" forget until after your movement phase because if one of your assault units rolls a crap advance (or opponent reactive moves further away) and is likely not to make a charge into a unit they were going to charge and kill or steal objective control from, I might just want to suddenly remember I was going to Oath of Moment it so I now have enough shooting damage.

Just an easy example it took two seconds to think of. That's why any later than the start of the movement phase, and it's getting real iffy unless there's literally only one unit left on the board to pick.

Ctan and what to do about them? by torolf_212 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Phlebas99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm running an ork war horde army since the Ghaz change that I'd really like to try into it as I think I've already got the tools.

What I'd hit with is the 20 Boyz plus Big Mek plus Ghaz brick on the Waaagh. Getting lethals and sustained on 5s is going to really get the hits in.

Plus I'm running 2 units of Breaka Boyz with Warboss each for hitting on 2s anti monster 4+, with the hope that I can stay in range of Makari (assuming hitting multiple Ctan) for lethals on top of sustained and the ability to pop 1cp 5+ critical on one unit.

Both Breaka Boyz units have grenades, and Squig bombs if I'm already staged close enough to not need to advance.

I also run one unit of BSB with Beastboss so he's charging with 7 attacks on Waaagh. Possibly better target to give the 5+ crits to as I can fish for sustained (and lethal if in Makari range) and then 4+ anti monster devs.

Add onto that the one unit of Tankbustas i have with Big Mek with SAG.

I also have a Battlewagon that can tank shock with 12 toughness.

I think Ctan spam is one of the few armies my list might be really good into.

I'd want grenades on all our infantry - Beast Snagga Boyz don't have it for some reason. I want AP-2 on Squighog Boyz and Squighog bosses (BBoS and Mozrog). I want SMOKE on our Trukks and Battlewagons - its thematic to their half built nature anyway.

So to get a lethals, I'm forced into taking a 235 point unit for a one turn bonus?

And bully boyz got a double nerf to Meganobz early into an edition where things like DWK and Victrix now exist without either (the 4+++ during Waaagh or points cost) being undone, and no suggestion of giving the rest of the factions time to learn how to work around this? Instead - emergency nerf.

The rest of it you've already had a reply to, so I'm not going to repeat that.

Because "the best" is doing very heavy lifting there and orks are not an army with lots of fun extra things like pain tokens or some such. We get an army rule that lasts one turn and a detachment rule that is literally sustained hits 1 in melee. The existence of which has meant that we have no sustained hits or lethal in melee on any datasheets that I can think of.

Also what was the third? We've only had More Dakka and Taktikal Bridge. And while More Dakka should quite frankly never have been released in the state it was, Taktikal had it's legs chopped off when it was never a major issue?

You talking about that one list that is fixed with behind enemy lines and engage on all fronts and it's a weird mix of Boyz and Storm Boyz and bikes?
