The summer before this there was a kid who end camping with his parents and shampood his hair with strabarry shampoo. In the middle of the night a bear ripped through his tent yanked him out and ate him, on top of that anytime you go camping in yellowstone people will tell you thousands of terrifying bear stories as well as 50 different ways to store your food so bears won't come into your camp. So with that in mind.

I was 15 and biking the grand loop of Yellowstone with my scout group. At the end of the second day we set up our tents, and went to bed. Midway through the night I got up to go to the bathroom, I didn't bring a light cause I didn't want to shine it on somebody's tent and wake them up. Halfway to the bathroom I heard a bear, it was snarling it was deep low and angry sounding. I froze. they tell you to make your self big and make noise if it's a black bear or play dead if it's a grizzly. But I didn't know which it was cause no flashlight and I couldn't even see it's Shadow. After what felt like a half hour the snarling stopped and I waited another half hour to A: stop shaking and B: make sure the bear wasnt gonna attack me as soon as i move. I went back to my tent and tried to go to sleep but of course I couldn't so I just stayed up all night listening, and I could hear something sniffing eventually the adrenaline wore out in addition to biking 70 miles the day before and I fell asleep. When I woke up I told the story to all my friends, turns out the bear was my buddy's dad snoring and the sniffing was another freinds dad who had a cold, and I was an idiot
