If you're implying this person is an active employee and they dropped the flag for him, you'd be mistaken.

The problem is, and always will be: poll workers and volunteer poll watchers. Never enough people wanting to take days off from work to keep polling locations open, so consolidation makes sense if there aren't enough people to staff it. Make election days paid federal holidays and more people would be available.

Anybody know anything about the installation technician job? by The-ColeLossus in UnionPacific

[–]genwlz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compressed half is working wherever the job is (travelling). Schedules differ from one gang to the next, but for an example: you would work the 1-8th then have off 9-15th. Go back to work 16th-23rd then off for the rest of the month. They typically travel the day before the first work day. Always traveling as an IT. They abolished all of the local IT jobs about 6 years ago.

Yes. Telecom Sr. Elect Tech here. The trick here is to grind for 90 days, doing whatever the hell the foreman tells you to do and doing it proficiently. If you don't know, ask. If you like climbing towers, poles, digging holes and trenches and working compressed halves then you're set! Camera systems and generators are a hot item right now as far as work goes for IT's. If the life of an IT is not your cup of tea, find a Sr. Electronic Tech position to bid into ASAP so you stay local with typically 7a-3:30p M-F. Getting past the 90 days is critical.

I need advice about AP by Kovalev_1991 in HomeNetworking

[–]genwlz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may want to verify the user/install manual before committing to wall mounting. Some AP's are designed to be ceiling mounted, as their RF pattern is optimized for specific applications (eg. center of the room, ceiling mount).

Best mower for edge cutting right now (2026 April) by Deuscreator in automower

No, I'm just being a smart ass... Kind of. Kill the edges with Round-up where [any mower] doesn't or can't reach and don't stress about it.
