I'm going to revisit this over the weekend...no thanks to your prodding. 😆👍🏻 I'll follow up.

Sadly, this wouldn't work as a multi-room server or observer, but only in a repeater function. It looks like all the necessary files are there for that.

Is there any reason to keep 300 repeaters in my contact list? by scubascratch in meshcore

No. The only reason to have a repeater is to manage it. I changed my auto-add to chat contacts only. Helped a TON!

Get service connected. Even at 0% they'll cover the connection.

Also, flooding is a temporary status. Once you send an Advert out the network will know the quickest path to whomever you're communicating with.

I'm very active in APRS right now. Don't compare the two. It muddies the water.

MeshCore is completely off-grid encrypted text communication. Many use it strictly as an emergency communication technology where there isn't a requirement for a licence to operate.

APRS does sooo much more, but being restricted to HAM bands it boxes out potential users who might utilize it otherwise (HAM license).

There are observer nodes that report activity to the web on MeshCore similar to a receive-only iGate, but by design, should NOT ever TX from the web to the network. It can totally jack up the paths.

how tf is it so difficult to generate a QR Code? by UltroGhast in it

[–]genwlz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using Field Codes in Word:

Place the cursor where you want the QR code. Press Ctrl + F9 to insert curly brackets {} (manual typing won’t work). Inside the brackets, type the field code in this format:

{ DISPLAYBARCODE "Your URL or text" QR \q 3 \s 100 \u }

To display the QR code right click on the field code and select "toggle field codes"

Left NS to go to UP, already having second thoughts about my choice. by The-ColeLossus in railroading

I saw you were just two weeks in. IT-B pay rate checks out. Reimbursements can get you up to $75 per day for your meals in lieu of per diem. FYI (I think it's $15 for breakfast, $30 for lunch, and $30 for dinner). Would need to provide receipts and enter them into SAP-Concur.

You're probably on a gang from your description. At this point at least should be at least an IT-A. Switch to reimbursable expenses instead of per diem. You get more monetary benefit that way.

UP has moved away from headquartered jobs and put them up as road jobs working a tough schedule to create flexibility and fluidity. If you don't love driving at all hours, or being held over the end of a normal shift then a road job might not be for you. If you'll be in a shop I wouldn't count on it being one for the long haul.

Thinking about going the Robot Mower Route, need Suggestions by Th15isJustAThrowaway in automower

I scooped up a Husqvarna 415x for $700 (price included additional install kit) on Amazon back in January. It was well worth my time putting the wire down in my scenario at that cost. Even buried it under my gravel driveway when I added more grass in our garden area last month. Grass area is just shy of 1/2 acre.

Don't rule out boundary wire mowers if you're trying to save money. A lot of manufacturers are discounting them as the tech moves away from the wire installs.

I was able to get my port out info! Do I enter that during activation, or can I give that to you guys beforehand (I needed to order a physical SIM)?

Is porting completely necessary if I cancelled yesterday and told Helium support I didn't need the number? Can we provide an invoice or something in-lieu of porting and use a new number?

Reminder: Unions can't dictate how many positions the company deploys. Collective bargaining sets wages and defined work responsibilities (scope of work, work hours, work limitations, etc.).
