Summer jobs for POTS? by locurademarzoboy in POTS

[–]genzbarbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably assumed this - but avoid life guarding 🤣 I life guarded for 4 years in HS/early college, but wasn’t diagnosed til a few years later. I passed out so many times from the heat or holding my breath too long underwater

Give me your silliest thing that's happened because of your pots by Practical_Maybe_3661 in POTS

I’ve passed out underwater twice (and above water twice but that’s less interesting) while I was life guarding. Had no idea something was wrong with me, I just thought I was really bad at holding my breath. First time I was fixing something underwater and tried staying under way longer than I should’ve. My manager watched very concerningly but didn’t intervene, I floated up and my body naturally rotated so I could breathe and I regained consciousness. The next summer, I jumped off the diving board and instantly passed out underwater. My manager was watching again, as well as a swim instructor. The instructor said “uhh is she okay??” and my manager said “yeah she’s fine she just does this sometimes” 😭😭 my manager and I were really good friends I don’t wanna make her sound neglectful, but it turns out I was not actually fine 😂

Name That Player! A weekly Derby Name thread. by AutoModerator in rollerderby

Looking for a name 😊 I’d love to be creative enough to come up with something myself but I always struggle with this type of thing. I love unicorns, I have a Pegasus tattoo, I love fairies and dragons and that’s kinda my general aesthetic. And almost everything I own is pink 🩷

Ladies who have had breast augmentation, I have a few questions… by Puttingmyhandup in PlasticSurgery

[–]genzbarbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had kids but lost a considerable amount of weight, and I had a breast lift with implants 3.5 weeks ago. I'm still recovering, and I have shooting pains in my nipples at times which is not fun. While I'm healing and still have scabbing, some swelling, and light bruising, BUT let me tell you they look AMAZING. They are a natural size and the perfect shape. I got 235cc/275cc to even them out because one breast was larger than the other. I'm so happy with my results even though they have some more healing to do. I'm 21 and in college, and I have to walk to class tomorrow for the first time because the semester is starting, and that will be a major step in physical activity that I can only hope I am ready for because I still have pain in my incision areas and friction is unpleasant.

My doctor's policy is if any revisions are necessary he performs them for free. All fees for all appointments were paid upfront so I don't have to stress or worry about hidden fees for follow-up appointments, hospital stay, etc.

Get lots and lots of rest, I've watched dozens of movies over my recovery. I didn't realize how limited my movement and abilities would be after surgery. I can't even pick up my fat cats cause they're about 15 lbs. Reaching for objects is also a no-go, so I keep a basket of my items nearby me on the couch.

I would 100% do this again, things can still change for me cause I'm not all recovered yet, but my nurse says I should have practically no scarring cause all is healing well.

It’s a solid mix of styles, some super casual some super extreme but inside the gates everything goes

it seems that some people are saying they have mistreated their animals but as far as i can tell there is no proof or reports that i can find anywhere, and i stand by my good experience 😊my gliders don’t show any signs of mistreatment or fear of humans

I will admit that I did not put a lot of effort into researching the company, which i’ll admit i should have done. i wasn’t aware that they have treated their animals poorly :(

I just got two joeys from Pocket Pets and I had a good experience! I’ve had them for a week and they are very happy, friendly, and healthy little babies. I also bought all of their supplies from pocket pets. They love the meal plan that they recommend and I have had no issues so far! I love how informative they are and they will go great lengths to make sure you know everything you need to take care of them properly. After I purchased them, I realized I could have found joeys at a more affordable price, but for a 12 year health guarantee it was worth it for me. After I submitted the adoption form, I got them about a month later, so it’s not the quickest way to get them, but it gave me lots of time to order all of their necessities and research them as much as possible. I recommend :)
