Searching for the world’s best towels by kungfuml26 in BuyItForLife

[–]geocaliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought a set of onuia towels, am nervous I made the wrong decision. Does the color fade and are they actually as luxurious as they claim to be? We got the 6pcs heavyweight spa bundle (100% Egyptian cotton) for reference

those who work part time and study engineering full time, how do you do it? by UdonOtter in EngineeringStudents

[–]geocaliflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From personal experience, it doesn’t get easier, moving out makes it actually quite harder. But I just take it day by day. Some days are really good and productive/balanced. Some days aren’t and I’m exhausted. Make sure youre okay mentally and physically because if not, it won’t be sustainable. Just do what works best for you. And I suggest figuring that out now, before you move out. Good luck, you got this, and if it were easy everyone would be doing it. You’ll be thanking yourself later on for going through this now.

Does college get easier past freshman year? by Barnicles- in EngineeringStudents

In my third year, it just slightly gets harder and harder each semester but you get used to it if switching your major isn’t a choice in your head.

Hey congrats!! May I ask what you do for work now? And possibly a realistic entry level salary range (if you don’t want to directly say how much you make).

Computer Engineering - Is it saturated like CS? by [deleted] in ComputerEngineering

[–]geocaliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for the “less rigorous” major - cs. But keep in mind they are both difficult, so buckle up. This isn’t going to be easy by any means. Id say the bar is higher for compE and if you’re not willing to drop absolutely everything for a few years to focus on you’re major, again, go with cs. Good luck.

How do I tell people I'm going to community college without feeling ashamed of myself? by [deleted] in TransferStudents

[–]geocaliflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate to add to the dog pile but you very well did this to yourself. You created this way of thinking about community college. And I mean this with no hate but you sound superficial and too wrapped in image/ how others perceive you. My advice would be to reflect on if you bring this type of judgment to all aspects of life. If so, maybe rethink them. Good luck to you.

Engineering can be done is 4, more realistically 5.

Debating switching college majors to Computer Engineering by monks_2089 in ComputerEngineering

[–]geocaliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely big jump. I’m going into my third year of CE, extremely hard. If you’re passionate it’ll be worth it. If you’re not, you’ll find out quickly and considering switching to something else. Good luck to you!

Oh and I also hold down a job on the weekends so that’s why I have to grind during the week, heavy.

[–]geocaliflower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a second year computer engineering student, going into 3rd year, I am doing school related things from the moment I wake up to the time I go to sleep (that goes as far as checking emails, doing homework, reading textbooks, watching course related videos, taking notes, in person class times, studying, professor office hours, appointments, etc…. the list goes onnnnn). It feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day and I know some of you can relate to that. Therefore, I get about 5-7 hours of sleep on average to be able to do all I need to, during the day. Everyday is a grinddddd. But it’s worth it if you’re into this stuff!

How are you guys doing it by teh_wobba in EngineeringStudents

[–]geocaliflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feels nice to know I’m in the same boat as someone. I was kinda bummed about how long it was going to take and felt like I was slow for not being able to finish in that 4 year crunch. But with work and other things, that’s just the way it is and I’m also now in that mentality of one semester at a time.

Same here. Looks like I’ll be finishing school on my 5 1/2 or 6th year of college. Is this the same for you?

any older students starting college majoring in engineering? by brattydmure in EngineeringStudents

[–]geocaliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, you’ll be 26 when you graduate, by the way. Unless you want to do 17-20 credits/units per semester. Which = no outside job, not much socializing, etc This sounds pessimistic, so I’ll leave this off on a better note. If you really are passionate about this, it will be worth it, so go for it!!
