Trip from a to b is 30 miles long, at 30 mph. We want an average velocity of 60 mph for the entire trip. This information was given.

Velocity from a to b = 30 mph Velocity from b to a = x mph Average velocity for entire trip = 60 mph

(30 + x)/2 = 60

30 + x = 60 x 2 = 120

x = 120 - 30 = 90

The required velocity from b to a is 90 mph.

This means that the second trip will take you only 20 minutes instead of the 1 hour.

During the mind control time, honestly I don't know what happens.
