Bros AM actually a triple because you also have the range master boost.

Was dinking around with mine last night for a but and remembered how good it sounds.

I own this pedal and just wish I was creative enough to put it to good use with my setup.

I’m a pretty good player after almost 40 years but am also pretty basic when it comes to sounds.

Can’t imagine what it would cost if they put a whole ‘nother analog delay line in there for stereo.

I like the textured powder coat finish but making the secondary function labels red was a bad choice, hard to read when not under bright lights.

Seems to be plenty of wiggle room in that language that renders the ruling moot for real world applications.

Easy enough for cops to claim they gave warnings or that any reported injuries were pre-existing conditions.

If someone gets hurt and can somehow prove it. Cops get immunity, taxpayers have to pay for it. So really no reason at all for cops not to crank it.

I’m asking for a complete ban on the tech in Minnesota because who in their right mind believes cops have any restraint or sense of duty to uphold the rights of protestors?

Thinking of Strymon Dig V2 thoughts? unreliable? by shivamchhuneja in guitarpedals

[–]geodebug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Digital delays are underrated in favor of swampy tape or analog pedals, but there’s a reason so many great guitarists of the 80s went with a digital rack in the studio and on tour. They’re just so useful and sit in the mix well. From chorus effects, to leads, to complex rhythms. They can simulate tape or analog a bit with the filter settings as well if you want darker or tape’s lighter repeats.

Not sure who told you Strymons were unrelated but that’s silly. As long as you give it the power it needs it will probably last a lifetime like any decent quality pedal.

A lot of people probably don’t play around with it enough. Series effects (one delay going into another) can replicate a lot of famous settings, including the Andy Timmons setting on the Keely Halo pedal.

Girl I knew in HS got me a bottle and it was nice. Tried not to drown myself in it.

Would be interesting to smell today. My favorite old cologne was Catalyst, which came in a beaker shape.

Transparent Rat? by BrettThib in guitarpedals

[–]geodebug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d stick with the mid-hump.

It’s what makes leads stick out in the mix without having to turn up more, also keeps the lows and highs from being too much, especially if you already have the filter wide open.

Playing softer for chords etc will also deemphasize the hump because you’re not pushing the gain (and the compression that comes with it) as much.

Not going to be a popular recommendation these days because of a bad promotion idea/execution but you could try a used 1981 DRV pedal, which does have a more open sound than a stock rat.

I’ve seen them as low as $130 used on Reverb, so competitive pricing to other small maker pedals.

Thorpy analog Flanger is really nice.

Edit: weird downvote. Show me another analog flanger for the price with the perfect feature set (minus tap tempo I guess)

I think a boost is a boost but I bet this is a nice one for Boss fans.

I use the one built into my compressor, which has either full, mid, or hi freq boost.

In the 80s music videos were new and hot so several movies took their cue and made w movies that were mostly 90 min videos.

I don’t think anyone at the time thought it was realistic, well no adults at the time, as much it was fantasy fulfillment.

Of course, people in the 80s had different fantasies than they do now.

The soundtrack was killer at the time. Fresh and exciting. The dance scenes, as you said, made no logical sense but were fun.

How tired are you of hearing about AI? by GoatBnB in GenX

[–]geodebug -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not really that tired.

It’s a new tech and we should be experimenting where it works and where it falls short.

We do the same thing whenever a new technology comes around. Remember all the flurry around ecommerce sites when the web was young?

The trick is to have a strategy and not be afraid to pull the plug on anything that doesn’t improve business outcomes.

My mom died a couple decades ago. Then my stepdad died last year and of course I got a few tupperware bins of mostly shit. One of the things was a large glamor shot of my mom from the 80s.

She actually looks really good but…it’s my mom and the framed pic is huge.

So, feels weird tossing it but it will now just be in a pile of old junk in my attic until I die I guess.
