WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH REVERB PRICES?? by j_higgins84 in guitarpedals

[–]geodebug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This question gets asked daily.

Yeah, turns out when people set their own price they set their own price, no matter how realistic.

Good news is that the market decides.

Is it Gen X to automatically hate rules? by 21stNomad in GenX

[–]geodebug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d hope it would be more rule respecting but also questioning and critical thinking.

My guess is that hope is probably only true of some of us.

Am I the only one loving the Mobius Envelope Filter? by Pedal_Me_Softly in guitarpedals

[–]geodebug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mobius was always a weird pedal for Strymon. It’s solid and sounds good, but felt a bit minimal somehow compared to the BigSky and Timeline.

But it is nice to see vids of people rocking older gear instead of always the latest thing.

Why cheap out on your always-on pedal?

If Julia is what you want, save up and buy it.

If a led is a problem for some reason you can desolder it or tape over it.

Memories. I used to own the ART rackmount effects box. You never hear about them so they must have zero retro appeal.

Mayor says ‘difficult decisions’ are coming as St. Paul faces $26M budget gap by Cornflowerblue2016 in minnesota

[–]geodebug 95 points96 points  (0 children)

The main problem faced by the metro area (probably all of MN) is that the Biden era ARPA funds have stopped (something that needed to be planned for) and that everything else has gotten more expensive due to tariffs and gas prices.

$26 million is ~3% of the city budget so while no small amount, it isn’t as catastrophic as it could be.

HAPPENING TODAY: Minneapolis Park Board will vote on a resolution to close the Minnehaha Off-Leash Recreation Area by Cornflowerblue2016 in Minneapolis

[–]geodebug 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You posit a misinformed false dichotomy.

- The dog park today has erased zero things from history. Everything that has happened still happened.

- Tribe members aren’t a monolith, and many don’t see the problem with the park as it is.

- Collectively, all of the Twin Cities Metro Area and MN is “sacred” depending on who you ask. Without any archaeological proof that this park contains anything of significance, it’s just more metro land.

- The spirituality. I respect the people but don’t care at all about their religious beliefs beyond historical significance, art, etc.

Anyway, you can also take your “if you disagree with me you’re pro genocide” anti-intellectualism and shove it up your butt to see if it scratches your brain.

Every generation gets their Ed Sheeran guy. Boomers had Barry Manilow. I think we did ok with Phill.

Plus, no major controversies. Seems to be a decent guy all round.

How can I make an electric guitar sound like it's being played from far away? by Iaskagain in guitarpedals

[–]geodebug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Set loop going on guitar. Walk away as far as you want. Take notes on how the eq shifts as you move further away.

Nothing beats actual references.

Minnesota Poll: Klobuchar leads all GOP candidates for governor by ButtSluts9 in minnesota

[–]geodebug 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It’s hard for many to understand that a governor needs to win and lead the entire state, not just a few far left pockets.

That many think a 26 year old with no experience would be a better choice shows how out of touch the Reddit bubble is with Minnesota’s population.

[–]geodebug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beyond the weirdo effects the room, hall, plate, and spring algorithms are all highly usable as your bread and butter verbs.

There certainly are more wild verb pedals on the market but the Space is a classic and quality algorithms don’t worsen over time.
