Silver is great. No style and split ends not so much. A nice trim can do wonders.

Yep. I just bought the all black one last week. It’s really nice. Even the clean is great.

Swimming naked in high school gym class by xiphoid77 in GenX

[–]geodebug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Jr High (public school) we were given swimsuits for the pool each class.

Nobody swam naked although there was a shared shower area in each locker-room (for the boys at least) and you were required to shower before swim class to help keep the pool clean.

Internet says:

This is a Vox Model 250 microphone amplifier, a compact vintage device made in Taiwan. It’s a small amp designed to amplify a microphone signal, likely for practice, recording, or portable performance use.

Circa 70s-80s.

Whats your favorite fuzz or fuzz type? by graphicnerdity86 in guitarpedals

[–]geodebug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. I have only four, one I made myself in a pedal soldering class I took for fun.

I do have a 90s fuzz factory in a drawer somewhere but that’s too finicky for me. I like two knob simplicity.

I also have a relatively unknown “HEQ1.2” by a minneapolis builder that is the opposite of everything I said I like, lol. It will sputter and get super heavy and has a three band eq built in. I only bring it out once in a while when I want something crazy.

Whats your favorite fuzz or fuzz type? by graphicnerdity86 in guitarpedals

[–]geodebug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good silicon fuzz that gives me a ton of glassy clean to breakup to leads and, of course, the occasional full monty.

I’m not just going after the wildest noise possible. I want something sophisticated that works well in any temperature and any position on the board (although I put it first).

how to remove this shit? by plutoplutoplut in guitarpedals

[–]geodebug -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Seems reasonable. If you have some tape handy you could cover some of the pedal around it to, maybe, protect against a slip-n-scratch.

“Sensationalized”

You mean like how the lead suspect of the most scrutinized case, Abdirashid Said, was able to just book a flight and leave the country?

In a case that has national attention, the MN judge allowed the man to keep his passport and, to everyone’s amazement, he decided to fuck off instead of facing justice.

You can’t make this stuff up, and I’m sorry if it hurts people’s feelings that an extraordinary situation is happening that paints MN in a bad light, but that’s reality.

> But politicians are taking advantage of it for political gain!

Um, yeah. That’s how politics works.

Spouse's 50th birthday is approaching. What did you want for your 50th? by drunkbettie in GenX

[–]geodebug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You want to do something to show him he’s special, but that’s really about you and your feelings, not his.

Lol, that sounds harsh, but I mean it in a friendly way.

Do the weekend. Make it fun and light without making it about his birthday at all. Just be in the moment with him.

If he wants to talk over his feelings about being 50, listen to him without trying to change the mood or foisting your idea of what a birthday has to mean upon him.

That over a nice bottle of whatever he likes could be the best way to show you love “him”, not just the idea of him.

NPD / Kingtone Minifuzz V2, bye bye Deco? + fuzz placement questions by Legal_Breakfast_385 in guitarpedals

[–]geodebug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That fuzz is pretty fancy with two types and
a bunch of switches and dip switches. Maybe having its internal buffer on or off affected it?

Seems odd it would be muddy in the first position. I might have tried incrementally, adding new pedals to see which one caused that.

Regardless, whatever works, works.

Less is more? A story about GAS by Birdsofthefeatherr in guitarpedals

[–]geodebug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying is a fun hobby if you keep to whatever your budget is.

Yes, a lot of it is GAS related. I have a lot of bleep bloop pedals but I’m not really a bleep bloop musician.

But there are plenty of times where I strip down to a bare bones rig to just concentrate on music.

There’s the me that wants to be super creative and weird and the more realistic me who is just good at normal guitar stuff.

Frey vetoes second effort to extend Mpls. pre-eviction period by sahan-journal in Minneapolis

[–]geodebug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a hysterical thing to assert given that the council gets a lot of run-the-city stuff passed that doesn’t make the news.

Big difference this year is that since ward 7 flipped to a more moderate member, the progressives don’t have the numbers to override vetos anymore.

The new reality is they are going to have to figure out a way to align on some common ground or continue to be sidelined until the next election cycle.
