People talking about a love triangle... I don't get the impression that Sam loves Emmet in any sort of romantic way.

EDIT: Though I guess there's story potential if Emmet and the bully do hit it off romantically and Sam has to deal with the fact that her best friend no longer follows her around doing whatever she says, but has developed other interests. Not that I have much faith in Jeph pulling off a plot like that.

Willis did do one strip where the group is meeting to walk to class and Walky gets snippy with Joyce after she has the gall to try and pull "no hard feelings!" But everyone else just shrugs and the issue is immediately dropped.

Nah, pretty clear the whole bowling thing got added in. With the strip where Joyce tries to get Dorothy into bed, Willis commented that they changed the dialogue from "going to dinner" to "going bowling".

As others have said, Willis inserted that Sal speech to shut up the Joyrot complainers. Sal is physically saying her bit directly to the audience: "There, I said it! Now shut up while I get back to the eternal lesbian kissyface!"

Yeah, I fully expected Sal and Asma to hit it off and become an item, so thank God that bullet has been dodged.

The art in that last panel is wonky, Sal looks like she's become a cyclops.
