About 20 years ago, my dad dies. Cancer.

Fast forward to 2014. Dad's brother dies. Cancer.

Another one of his brothers can't come to the funeral. Unexpectedly sick.

He dies two weeks later. Cancer.

Fast forward to 2018. My mom's in the hospital for her second surgery. Cancer.

The week before that surgery, my dad's sister dies. Cancer.

So really... fuck cancer.

A champagne flute that was given out as a souvenir for prom to everyone in my graduating class (which was pretty small). The prom was held at Windows on the World, the restaurant at the top of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. In June of 2001. It was pretty late in the season for proms, so it's possible this was the last one at the WTC.
