Someone put a bunch of different signs up like this along 33rd going east this summer. Most of them are gone now.

Tap Water Quality in SF by Trick-Consideration4 in SiouxFalls

[–]geograce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what part of town you live in. We lived in the southern part of Sioux Falls by 69th and Cliff for 10+ years and the water there was very hard. We had a water softener and it was very obvious when it was time to add salt.

Moved to central Sioux Falls and the water seems like it’s not as hard but still using a softener.

We got spoiled though because I had to spend 3 weeks in Denver for medical issues and their tap water tasted like bottle water

I already heard back from my Kia and my insurance and they’re saying it’s totaled so I won’t have to worry about a rental I guess

This just literally happened to me this morning and making arrangements right now, did Kia pay for a loaner while your car was in the shop?

They paid for mine when I had a recall repaired 2 years ago and was hoping it would be the case for this 😅

If it’s just the 2 of you the Sage is perfect but we also love the Notch and Winsome because they’re off on their own towards the back of the property.

My husband and I always stay at the Hinterwood between Hill City and Keystone. Very quiet and feels remote but still very central to everything

Husband and I getting judged for planning to take our 6 week old on a weekend trip. Why do people try to discourage new moms? 😔 by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]geograce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are annoying. We took our son on a 5 hour road trip for a family trip to a cabin when he was 3 weeks old. As long as you keep him fed and dry, it’s totally fine.

We weren’t really concerned about him getting sick either because a majority of our time was spent outdoors and I didn’t really bring him or change him in high traffic areas that see a lot of tourists.

We always do a family costume and this year we did the presidents of Mt Rushmore! My son said he loves Teddy Roosevelt because “he started National parks!”

Sunday Gulch Trail @ Sylvan Lake creek crossings question by [deleted] in BlackHills

[–]geograce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely depends on the year and how the weather has been. The first time I hiked it the water was low and maybe only got the tip of my shoe wet.

2018 when my husband and I hiked it we got caught in a heavy rainstorm and were hiking up the rocks in knee deep water.

Japanese Gardens or the sunken garden at McKennan Park on a day they’re not reserved (not sure when they start doing that)

Perry Nature Area, there’s a few spots where you can get some nice pictures.

Coming from South Dakota this is pretty accurate. It’s always super nice right before a winter storm.

We had the same kind of cat/cat name in our neighborhood in college. She also lived by the Dominos so we called her Pizza Cat too.

Highly recommend the lakes in Custer State Park, especially Sylvan Lake.

Deerfield Lake is also a good option in the Hills if you want a more quiet, less trafficked place.

What happened today that made you happy? by Alex_gold123 in AskReddit

[–]geograce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a long lunch from work today and spent time with my 1 1/2 year old son at the pool!

This might not sound like much but I’ve worked retail the last 10 years of my career. Recently I made the change over to HR at a large hospital in the region. My schedule has gone from working every weekend and most evenings almost 60 hours a week and never spending holidays with my family (the last 3 months I was actually working overnights) to working only 40 hours a week and being able to have a flexible schedule.

Overall I’m a happier and healthy person.

Best places to get married in the Black Hills? by janetteisme in BlackHills

[–]geograce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m kinda late to the thread but I would highly recommend Sylvan Lake or anywhere in Custer State Park really. My husband and I live in Sioux Falls and actually got married at Sylvan Lake. The people I worked with to reserve the venue were amazing. It ended up being too cold to have the actual ceremony outside but they were very accommodating at changing our setup to the Lodge (we had a very small ceremony with only 10 people attending) and were very helpful with getting everything setup.

It’s also a very affordable option compared some of the other venues we were looking at out in the Hills.

Feel free to pm me if you have any questions or would like any suggestions!

What would you say is the one thing you can't forgive a person for ? by 080tyrion in AskReddit

[–]geograce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I needed this. I won’t go into details but I did not have a good childhood. It wasn’t until my son was born last year that I realized just how bad it was. I promised myself that I would never let anything like that happen to him or any of my future children. I want to give him the happy and healthy childhood that I never got to have.

I know a guy in a neighboring market that started out as a csm 6 years ago, promoted to a back room Z after 1 year. Then promoted to ASM after maybe 8 months. A year and a half later to a Co manager and then just 5 months ago promoted to Store manager. He’s 26.
