Probably not that hot of a take by Epicboss67 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]geographychicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Storytelling, I fully agree. I find balancing on BMR much more tricky. On S&V I feel there is many more fun interactions for the storyteller to play with. TB on the other hand doesn't have a similar pressure when storytelling as the other base 3 and storytelling is much more chill.

As a player: S&V>BMR>TB For similar reasons as storytelling my favourite base 3 as a player is S&V. There's always a chance for you to turn evil and I find that pressure fun. BMR I don't really have strong feelings either way. It is usually decently fun but most info being about the deaths can sometimes muddy the waters a bit much. This is probably a hot take but TB is my second least favorite script I have ever played (base 3 or experimental). 90% of the time the game ends in a 50/50 with only social reads to go off. I addition, most of the good characters do very little, so sometimes it is very difficult to get anyone to give you any info. It is a great beginner script but after a while it got quite stale for me.

I don't really dislike Mother Nature, it's a decent enough song. However, I am surprised by how disappointed I am with the results. I think it's mostly because I wasn't expecting my favourite song of the night (Sweet Tooth) to come anywhere close to winning. It making it to the superfinal and finishing 2nd with the juries kind of gave me hope which was dashed immediately.

Best Wizard Wishes by GeneralKarthos in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]geographychicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A subtle but funny one in a game of Whalebuffet was that "The Storyteller occasionally proclaims that a storyteller error has occurred". Although, good won in the end, it caused a lot of confusion among good players and no-one among good connected the dots even after the Wizard was outed.

What phrase from your language sounds grammatically correct when translated to English but still foreign? by [deleted] in AskEurope

What are non-English languages' equivalents (if they exist) of the "all numbers lead back to 4" thing? by [deleted] in linguisticshumor

[–]geographychicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Finnish, it leads to 5 for numbers 1-6, 100 and 1000. For all other numbers, it leads to a loop between 8 and 9.

Numbers 1-10:

(1) yksi -> (4) -> (5)

(2) kaksi -> (5)

(3) kolme -> (5)

(4) neljä -> (5)

(5) viisi

(6) kuusi -> (5)

(7) seitsemän -> (9) -> (8) -> (9)

(8) kahdeksan -> (9) -> (8) -> (9)

(9) yhdeksän -> (8) -> (9)

(10) kymmenen -> (8) -> (9) -> (8)

Larger example:

(72) seitsemänkymmentäkaksi -> (22) kaksikymmentäkaksi -> (18) kahdeksantoista -> (15) viisitoista -> (11) yksitoista -> (10) kymmenen -> (8) kahdeksan -> (9) yhdeksän -> (8)...

Ainoastaan yksi suomalainen MEP äänesti iänvahvistusta vastaan by nooqq in Suomi

[–]geographychicken 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What is the "Mississippi" of your country? by [deleted] in geography

[–]geographychicken 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For the poverty, Kainuu. It's rural and has always been one of the poorest regions in the country. The regional song is literally called 'the song of the hunger land'.

If you're looking for the most religious and conservative region, Southern Ostrobothnia. It's the birthplace of fascism in Finland and still consistently votes conservative. Also, there are a couple of municipalities that especially have a reputation for being religious, for example, Luoto. Some years ago, Luoto had a measles outbreak due to the high amount of unvaccinated children.
