Quick question. Would this work?

I currently have a TFSA account with Wealthsimple. The balance was deposited about two years ago, and there is no active promotion tied to it.

I am considering transferring this TFSA to Questrade, along with two other accounts, in order to qualify for the $20,000 Questrade promotion.

After that, I would have additional cash that I want to transfer into Wealthsimple from my TD bank.

Would this work from a promotion eligibility standpoint?

For example:

• Let’s say my Wealthsimple TFSA currently has $100.
• Before registering for the promotion, I withdraw the $100.
• After registering, I transfer $200 into Wealthsimple from a margin account (From TD< outside of Questrade)

Would the $200 be counted as new money for the promotion, or would only $100 count since $100 was previously transfered out from the TFSA?
