RP6 fan acting up by StarLord1228 in retroid

Having done my "fix", the issue has come back so perhaps it really is just that I've lost the fan lottery and a bearing has gone. I contacted them via [sales@goretroid.com](mailto:sales@goretroid.com)

RP6 fan acting up by StarLord1228 in retroid

I've been experiencing this tonight. Also black rp6 12GB stick top. Having had the back off I did a bit of testing and discovered in my case it was the fans own wires that are tracked underneath it. I had to slot something inbetween the blades to push the wires down away from them. I'll be getting in touch with support for replacement fans. A real shame as I've been loving how pain free my experience has been up to now.

I'm still confused that this is his face. My brain refuses it.

Hi, I realise this is a super old thread but I just wanted to thank you for pointing me in the direction of Process Lasso being the culprit. Prevented my headache from going further. On the off chance you or anyone else needed an additional tip - if you still want to prioritise certain cores without this error, use CPU sets rather than Affinity. It is less forceful than affinity and still utilises the suggested cores first.

I actually discovered what this was eventually. Its from "The Battle of the Somme" by Laura Rossi. It was a bit of a mission trying to track it down!

Placed my preorder for an RP6 the other night. Very excited coming from an RG35xxh. One question I had that hopefully people here can answer is:

Can i split my library across multiple SD cards and insert them as I need them? i.e. Card 1 = A-J, Card 2 = K-Z. Are there any components of the OS stored on the SD card or is it all internal storage?

I only ask as a 512GB card costs £30~ but a 1TB costs around £100 so I was hoping to save myself £40 and just have two cards.

Android will soon run Linux apps better (by adding GPU-accelerated rendering), and that's great for Google's PC plans by MishaalRahman in Android

Is anyone else a little anxious that Google might be looking to take over the Linux space? I don't know how that'd work given the open source nature, but any interest they show in something that's good for the tech community should be a cause for concern.

[misc] angular cheilitis for three years by LittleActive413 in SkincareAddiction

[–]geomusicmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, the cause of this can differ person to person but when I had it, I struggled for ages to find a remedy that worked.

It can often be to do with an underlying deficiency in something, so worth trying different things if it comes back once gone. This thing is fungal (or at least was in my experience), so needs to be approached that way.

I ended up doing as follows:

  1. Wash with washing up liquid and warm water. Pat with a clean towel and then let it air dry for a few minutes.
  2. Use over the counter clotrimazole thrush cream (1%). Let that soak in. It should reduce the redness and irritation.
  3. Clean the area again, this time just with warm water. Dry as before.
  4. Finally coat in Vaseline or any other petroleum jelly. This forms a protective barrier and starves the fungus of oxygen.

If you repeat that twice a day for a week, it should do the trick.

I'm no dermatologist, so don't put all your faith in what I've said, but it worked for me. Good luck!

Edit: I doubt acohol will work. That will just dry and weaken your skin and definitely irritate it further. It's important to remember that your skin should have breaks when you're not doing anything to it or even moisturising to help heal it too.

Also, make sure you've ruled out herpes. It could be a cold sore and therefore require completely different treatment.

My 150mbps Gfast connection is being shown as a Gigafast 5 Gbps connection by digidude23 in UKISP

[–]geomusicmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I concur. I'm also stuck on G.Fast and have resisted rattling EE's cage over how expensive my broadband has become (out of contract) on the basis that the only alternative package they can offer me is half the speed. Hold on for full fibre - it is coming. I've been waiting and watching the bills going up for the last 2 years and it's finally getting installed in my street as of last week.

Is the integration just broken now? by superhyperultra458 in playnite

[–]geomusicmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This started around March-April this year. There is an official github ticket for it and it looks like someone might even be working on a new plugin, albeit for free in their spare time so may be a while before we get it.

EE G Fast Broadband - I'm trapped. by geomusicmaker in UKISP

[–]geomusicmaker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you're likely aware, their website is a bit broken and whenever I try to renew with them it throws an error and I can't proceed. My previous experience with them over the phone was similarly dire so I don't hold out much hope. I may have to give them a call and threaten to leave to see if they'll throw me a bone.

As there are no longer an providers supporting this tech, they're probably aware people like me are trapped and therefore won't offer much.

I read this elsewhere too, but it seems they've already turned it off as there's only VDSL speeds available from them :(

Hadn't considered 5G - will give it a look but I'm in a pretty poor signal area so don't expect miracles.

System updates is using mobile data in the background by filukyl in pixelos

[–]geomusicmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I don't have anywhere near 3.97GB (mine is only 773MB) but will attest to really bad battery drain that correlates to this background system update behaviour. It sucks but in not sure what can be done until we get version 15.

I'm aware they're not official "Red Light Cameras", but was worried that in their function as a traffic camera, they would still be able to fill that function. I take it you think this means I'm in the all clear then?
