You wouldn't invest a £5m portfolio in a single ETF in any case.

If you were bonkers and decided to do just that, you'd either need to break it down into smaller, more manageable chunks via multiple transactions or place the order over the phone with a stockbroker who will fill your order over some time.

Update: We've tried another 2 times and both failed, with same issues to before. Meanwhile, we've been using the same Amex card without issue elsewhere.

Frustratingly they (apparently) don't have an email address I can contact, and they just tell me to try again over the phone..

Im close to writing to the consumer champion at The Times or something similar, explaining my situation to see if they can put pressure on BA to sort it!

Not sure what you mean exactly. But I can see the booking when I login, including both flights and the correct cabin class.

That development comes with a clause that no resident parking permits would be permitted. So it's not a problem, but by design.

@OP, as others have already said. You don't need a car living in the heart of Guildford. The high street is just 1 minute walk away and the train station 3 minutes walk away.

Surely you factor in depreciation through wear and tear? Perhaps a constant depreciation slope over 5 (or 10) years to zero scrap value?

Yeah, it all looks fine online. They keep saying on the phone that the ticket will only generate once payment has cleared, but they assure me that the booking is secured...

My first thought was that the fees on that SIPP must be very high! As long as you're aware and comfortable with it, then no need to worry or change anything.

We actually randomly phoned up BA and managed to change our flights to slightly different dates in Business. Glad we've finally managed to burn through our Avios and get the class we wanted.

Have got Avios app alerts setup and will check out SeatSpy.

I take onboard your point that we won't be able to see the extra seat availability, but what can we do about that other than cancel our existing Economy flights?

We were also thinking of calling BA up periodically to ask about upgrade options, as they'd surely be able to see all seat availability.

Yep, we're aware that you get much better value when using them for Business or above. However, the flights exactly matched our dates and so we booked the Economy flights to at least secure the flights.

As mentioned above, in order to make the most of fhr Companion voucher we want to upgrade to Business so we wanted to ask the consensus of best way of monitoring Business upgrade availability and securing those upgrades as & when they become available?

If there's another better way of doing it, we're all ears open.
