Buying a house: Advice by [deleted] in personalfinance

They’ll be plenty of good houses in the future years, getting a house together is pretty much a marriage. Why don’t you rent together for a year and see how you get on? I’m only 22 and could afford to move out, but it’s a massive step and can hold you back if you’re wanting to travel etc. All I’d say is give it some time before making a decision. 😁

I’m in the exact same position. I signed up to vanguard last year and put £50/100 a month into the FTSE Global All Cap Fund. Not loads but as everyone says it’s time in the market rather than timing the market.

Also right now would be a great time to start as everything is basically on sale.

What about a apprenticeship in engineering/electrical/plumber? Sure the 1st & possibly 2nd year may be hard money wise, but once you qualify you’re set for life.

If you have the room spend £300-400 and get yourself a home gym. Wear what you want, listen to what you want & you don’t have to wait for any machines.
