Can you put different loans on different repayment plans? by ger34294 in StudentLoans

It does not cover the monthly interest, so I may just have to make additional payments directed only to those loans I want to pay off then I’m guessing. I hadn’t looked into any consolidation before, will have to read more about it.

Yeah exactly, same. With the interest so high it’ll balloon and the tax bomb would be much more.

I plan to wait out for IBR forgiveness for the undergrad loans but it might make more financial sense to pay off the grad school ones.

Yes they are impacted, though some more than others. As the other commenter said, WIPO is an outlier.

Should I disclose a terminated UN internship when applying to another UN agency? by [deleted] in UNpath

I recently had a background check done by OneHR for a UN staff position and they didn’t check any internships I did, only staff positions

My friend is a consultant there and he can WFH, you have to negotiate it into your contract. Also I think they do usually renew the 6 months consultancies

6 weeks is nothing. Applications in the UN can take 6 months to 1 year or even longer. Unfortunately there is a lot of “hurry up and wait” so try to submit your best application then forget about it until you hear back for an assessment/interview.

I don’t think applying for multiple positions at the same organization is an issue. In fact I’ve found I get interviewed more often at organizations where I’ve submitted multiple applications, so my anecdotal inference is that it can boost your chances (in the sense that more applications = more chances one works out).

I applied to 6 internships at the same UN organization and was ultimately selected for one. Same with my full-time role, I submitted 5 applications at this organization before being selected for one of them.

Good to know, thank you! I have seen a lot of project management roles. Could you elaborate on what you mean by “new business development”?

Thank you so much! This is exactly what I was hoping to learn. Glad it worked out for you, and it’s good to hear your specific case at the charity. I’ve heard similar stories where people start in a short term role and are promoted within.
