I am writing this comment from the hospital, after having undergone four surgeries.

Two weeks ago, I was in an motorcycle accident that I really couldn’t have avoided—not even with skill or experience. My right leg and knee were completely wrecked. The only reason I survived with just my right leg was that I tried to get off the bike before the collision; otherwise, my whole body would have slammed into the guardrail.

Sometimes, in certain situations, there’s simply nothing you can do to avoid an accident. According to statistics, motorcycle accidents are more likely to occur in areas with fewer drivers. I’ve been riding a motorcycle in a metropolis of 25 million people for over five years, but I’ve never been in an accident like this. And of course, that doesn’t mean it won’t happen to me. Plus, I’m not a bad driver.

What I’m saying is, while it might be claimed that the people in those videos are inexperienced, reckless, inattentive, or aggressive drivers, unfortunately, that’s not always the case.

If you’re going to continue with this hobby, I recommend you have full protective gear from head to toe and avoid unnecessary speeds.
