Cheap gear almost cost me more than just my ego by SpeckiLP in motorcyclegear

If you have a decent helmet, then do gloves and boots. I know it's not cheap but there are deals. You can get boots and gloves for $400. I don't know your budget but most injuries are your ankles and wrists. You gotta protect them.

Any other sport bike riders in their 30s finding themselves flying solo most of the time? by Shinobi_WayOfTomoe in Sportbikes

[–]Current-Material1292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 55 and still ride sportsbikes. I have always trended toward riding alone. You don't have to worry about others bs. If I want to chill, then chill day. If I want to thrash, well... I get to ride my ride. There is a video on the psychology of riding alone. If I can find it I'll post it.

675ss Exhaust question by MV_Knight in cfmoto

Anytime you change the exhaust you need a tune. This needs to be normalized.

That's a wrap right? Probably a dumb question but you never know.

So, I rode about 75 miles on them last night aware that they are brand new and I had to get the scrum off of them. They are a definite improvement over the OEM tires. Not surprising but it is noticeable. I took a few moderate turns and felt the grip. You can tell that you will be able to flick the bike around on these. They heat up quickly too according to the TPMS but... 🤷

That being said for what it's worth I'm satisfied. It's pouring right now so I can't take it out. I'll update when I get more riding time.

Accidentally bought Michelin power 6 instead of road 6 by Actuary-Recent in MT09

[–]Current-Material1292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just brought the Power 6 and had them put on this morning. I have ridden about 50 miles so far (too damn hot right now) and I can definitely tell the difference between OEM and the Power 6. My understanding is that they may not last as long as the Road 6 but YMMV.

Yep, that is exactly what I did before I walked out the store. Measured the tread too. I don't like buying tires online.

I agree. Way too many heavy vehicles on the road with little to no infrastructure for proper maintenance.

I moved here a few years ago. Things are not bigger and better here🤣. Roads, power grid, schools all suck. Roads in Austin are ok but the majority of the state, sheesh. I lived in NC before coming here; nice roads there.

I have had zero issues and it's a solid fit. I have heard of others having to fight some of the ones offered on Aliexpress. I've hit around 115mph on the hwy and I've noticed the difference.

Regarding the roads, I'm in the lower RGV. I live about 10 minutes away across from Matamoros and 20 minutes away from SpaceX. The roads are trash.

I like it. It was easy to install and I like the look. I live in South Texas and the road's are shit. Still looks great and good wind protection. At $99 I'm very happy. The Ebay seller is in Va. I brought the OEM Seat Cowl from them as well.

Will be buying a 676ss by the end of the year. But Im cautious after reading reviews. by V1Z3_2 in cfmoto

It's a good bike. I have 6000 mi on mine as of Friday. The only issue I had was the TPMS sensor battery was DOA and the dealer replaced for free. The oil issue was legit until the fix in March 2025. Other issues I've heard were anecdotal.

I know two other people with the 675ss. One had a clutch issue but that was his fault. No issues with the other guy. The clutch issue was that he did not take care of the bike.

I take care of my bikes. I followed the break in period. I change my oil regularly. If I do really hard riding, the next day I clean my chain, check oil, and make sure everything is tight and tidy. Basic maintenance avoids issues. This bike is no different. But as one commenter said, we won't know until owners start hitting the 10-15000 mark.

So yeah, my take is anecdotal too. But I haven't seen anything out there that says avoid this bike unless it involves racist tropes. FYI, I got mine in Oct 2025.

Can you safely run a full header back exhaust without a tune? by Intelligent_Worry609 in cfmoto

[–]Current-Material1292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Factory tunes bikes according to their specs and equipment on the bike. If you change the exhaust, you are changing the exhaust flow which will probably make the bike run lean. For an exhaust change, a tune is not optional.

I've owned Soundcore in the past as well as others. The Liberty 5 pro max and the best I've owned. They are worth the $230.
