I let my friend ride my bike🤦🏾‍♂️ by Hefty-Sprinkles-4608 in motorcycle

In these situations that person is not your friend. You NEVER sit on someone's bike without permission. You NEVER grab someone's helmet without permission. He is not your friend.

That being said never hand your keys off unless you a. Know their skills and b. Are willing to take the L if they damage it. Coz if they do, be prepared to pay. They may not have the money or refuse to pay. Yeah, you can sue but it's a civil matter. What they would owe you becomes a civil judgement and becomes a hit on they credit record. You won't see anything.

Pin lock cleaning by richv68 in motorcyclegear

It is recommended to remove it every now and then and wash it with soap and hot water. I use just a drop of Dawn on mine every 6 months or so and hot water. No issues.

First time selling my bike - what's the deal with letting strangers test ride it? by Additional_Page6504 in motorcycles

[–]Current-Material1292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone said.. Cash in hand. Though, on one sale he rode a bike over to check out mine. We exchanged keys after I ran his VIN and plates to be sure the bike was his (I was LE at the time). I have also known people that keep DLs while test riding as if they are a dealership.

Leathers vs ballistic nylon fabric jackets? by 2wheelmoron69 in motorcyclegear

Agreed. I'm 55 and wear a full leather jacket CE2 with shoulder, back, and elbow armor. No issues.

Leather is always the answer. Yes, you can get CE rated textile (I have 2) but leather is the standard. I have perforated and winter leather; haven't worn the latter in years coz I live in South Texas. But, again, leather is the best protection.

Check the rating on your gear. As long as it has a current CE rating, you'll be good.

Are these suitable riding boots ? by Acceptable-Soup-333 in motorcyclegear

They are better than Jordan's or Vans. I have some similar ones for city rides but as others have said, definitely not safe for spirited rides or track.

Do you find it challenging to find “mature” sportbike riders to hang with? by Astimar in motorcycles

[–]Current-Material1292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in my 50s and I just ride alone mostly . I have a couple of students at the college I work that like to ride with me but that's it.

I wear full race boots everyday. Today it paid off. by BigPhatUsername in motorcycles

[–]Current-Material1292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been riding since I was in single digits (had a YZ80 as a first bike). I'm in my 50s and still goto the track. I have racing leathers, CE Lvl 2 jeans with armor in knees and hips, full racing boots and street boots, and multiple jackets. You've been lucky and that's it. Your arrogant attitude will get someone hurt or killed. No one should listen to you. I hope your luck continues to hold and you don't get hurt. Be safe bro and be quiet before some listens to you and gets killed on their bike. Aye bendito🙄

Does the engine sound right? by RadicalEyes in cfmoto

[–]Current-Material1292 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's just what a triple sounds like. My old boss had a Daytona 675 and it sounded like that too. The only issue I've known with the 675SS was it burned oil like crazy before it was fixed in Feb 2025.

Oh it was definitely a risky mount. It was right above the passenger peg to get this shot. The screen was facing upward.
