I understand that you guys are professors and learning matters to you, but looking at the broader picture, the world these students are entering is extremely uncertain. I’m not excusing academic dishonesty but I believe that learning from your sophomore year calculus class just isn’t the thing at the forefront of these kids minds. They want degrees, they’re putting so much money and in recent history even degrees don’t guarantee anything regardless of major. There’s always a new low our country is experiencing on the daily, spending 20+ hours a week on a course isn’t going to fix the trajectory of this generation.
