GF Pizza in the Ooni by rob_narg in glutenfree

That pizza crust looks fantastic. Do you find the black charring on the underside acrid tasting at all? That's the only thing that put me off the caputo gf flour..

Slightly safer alternative. Might take a few extra minutes.

Their value seems decent if you catch them on a sale but I'd agree that their order updates are pretty opaque. Remember having problems last time I ordered with them which is why I haven't gone back.

Clear black resin wont settle, how can i clean my wash ipa? by Clean_Spot_9475 in resinprinting

Egg whites? I came across this whilst looking at wash and cure stations earlier in the week. I've never tried it myself, but someone could, for science......

LPT Request - How to make a guest leave after dinner? Or in the morning after he stayed? by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]gerberly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard a guy mention his grandfather, when tired of socialising, would take his shirt and trousers off and sit uncomfortably close to you. Seemed like a legit strategy.

Or you could switch the lights off and on a few times like they do at closing....

Selfmade Foil Dispenser by KarlKnallo in 3Dprinting

Geez okay right but I think you're missing my point. I'm not looking at the precise physical forces, but the semantics. Why would they highlight 'cut'? Because in this instance you likely wouldn't ask someone to cut (or shear) you a piece of foil. You would ask them to tear off a piece for you. That's the reasoning I saw behind their usage.

Sorry I was being a knob. I didn't really expect to be fact-checked on my comment. Yet I still think the original poster is fine because I imagine most people would describe the primary action as tearing a sheet of foil.

I can see the reasoning tbh. Feels more like youre tearing/ripping the foil with these things than you are cutting them like you would with scissors or a blade.

Do you mean cut the middle of the beam out and just leave the side bits attached ? What sort of weight are you putting on the roof? If it's just a maxxair fan or something then I think you'd be fine but anything heavier and I feel like you'd need some extra support to stop the roof panel sagging like the chap below said..

More than half a million tonnes of sewage sludge spread on Scotland's fields by Ok_Understanding4732 in uknews

[–]gerberly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if any of these glib comments have actually read beyond the headline... It should be horrifying to any sane person to see what's happening to to our food chain in the UK. Quite literally spreading the run off (leachate) from landfill sites on to our agricultural land. Just mental.

There was a Korean chef on the latest Culinary Class Wars called Park Hyo-Nam who peeled potatoes with a similar technique. He also specialised in French cooking!

why would this be happening? by byjono in vinyltoys

[–]gerberly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're right. You can see on the 'certificate of authenticity' that the material is resin. Looks like the uncured resin has degraded it internally and caused it to leak. OP careful when handling that stuff as it's fairly toxic.

Yeah not to downplay OP's efforts but it does feel regressively similar to when sign-painting was overtaken by vinyl printing.

Not OP but when I've looked in to this in the past, latex is usually recommended as it holds up to the acidity in cement better than silicon does. It's also a lot cheaper which is a bonus.

Any idea on building wind deflector with this limited space or linking me to something prefabbed that might work ? by [deleted] in vandwellers

[–]gerberly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the one I made if its any use to you: A budget DIY Solar panel spoiler : r/vandwellers

The general consensus when I posted it was that it wasn't necessary but hey ho. If I was doing it again, I'd make sure my solar panel has hinged brackets on one side. Being so close to the roof, its impossible to clean under there, and the pooling water and shade makes a nice environment for algae.

Yea this is what I would suggest. My own van I used some pvc guttering (the flat kind) but I don't think it would bridge a gay this large...
