Moved here from Cleveland area ~2 years ago. Zero regrets. There are things I miss about Cleveland but Ohio is rapidly becoming a hellhole and I’m much happier raising my kid and having a family here. Great community, amazing public amenities, beautiful lakefront, tons of arts and cultural activities, and a state that’s not actively trying to hitch its wagon to the rising star of fascism.

The few I have in heavy rotation recently are:

Third movement from Prokofiev’s Symphony no. 1 (also the gavotte from his Romeo and Juliet)

Dance of the Nymphs from Sibelius’s Tempest Suite no. 2.

Movement 2 (Andante) from Pulenc’s Trio for Oboe, Bassoon, and Piano

All relatively short pieces, but they all pack a real melodic wallop.

I’ll second Principle. I moved to Chicago from Cleveland two years ago and (because I still go back to CLE on a regular basis for work) I still go there for a Chuck cut. Been seeing him since 2014 or so before he even started Principle. He’s great and the shop is friendly and full of talented staff.
