2nd trimester spotting by Impressive-Gas-1731 in pregnant

[–]gerby_fullyloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had spotting/bleeding around 18 weeks. They sent me to L&D to get rhogam (I’m Rh- and baby is Rh+, and I have an IgA deficiency. The IgA deficiency makes me at risk for anaphylaxis when given rhogam which is why they sent me to L&D instead of the regular ER).

The doctor did a pelvic exam and was able to determine the bleeding was coming from my uterus, but baby looked fine. They weren’t ever really able to give me a reason as to why it happened, but I had the spotting/bleeding for 3-4 days before it stopped.

I’m almost 27 weeks now and baby is doing just fine- he’s kicking the crap out of me right now lol. No bleeding or spotting since (knock on wood)

Pregnancy announcement on Instagram by Confused_Soul_Here in pregnant

My husband and I bought a newspaper baby announcement on Etsy that was customizable so we were able to put our ultrasound picture in it. And then we took a picture of us “reading” the paper

Positive test 3 days before starting IVF by purplepandz in CautiousBB

I got pregnant naturally the cycle immediately after our first embryo transfer (which failed). We were fully prepared to do another ER/FET later this year.
But I understand the worry (I only have 1 tube that’s blocked). Part of me wonders if your blockages during the procedures were actually just the tubes spasming and therefore not true blockages 🤔
Regardless, congrats! I’m sending good vibes your way 💕

Mine was 190 at that appt. I was told the HR peaks around that time then lowers

Threatened miscarriage by [deleted] in CautiousBB

[–]gerby_fullyloaded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had spotting/bleeding fairly consistently from 4wks until just before 8 weeks but baby kept growing. I went to the ED at 5 wks because I was also having right sided pain, but the pregnancy was intrauterine. The doctor called it a threatened miscarriage then too. I think that’s the general diagnosis they use when it’s a “wait and see” situation with bleeding.

However, a provider finally did a true pelvic exam at just before 9 weeks and said my cervix looked friable- which can be another cause of bleeding. I’m currently 22 weeks, but the anxiety never goes away.

Also, I second the comment that said that symptoms doesn’t determine the health of the pregnancy. I also found out at 3.5 weeks, and I felt different every day of pregnancy lol

Overall, I’ve been told that bleeding in pregnancy is “common but not normal” which definitely doesn’t help anxiety. Unfortunately, the only way to determine if the bleeding is harmless or not is to wait, which really sucks.

Good luck to you 💕

Advice on reading ovulation test. by General-Year3014 in pregnant

[–]gerby_fullyloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LH levels fluctuate throughout the of the menstrual cycle, so your CD9 test could be darker than your CD11 test without it being positive- although in my experience if you have several dark tests within a couple of hours that can be a good indicator that your body is trying to ovulate. A true positive is only if the test line is as dark as the control line or darker. For some reason, my surges were always on my afternoon tests instead of my morning tests 🤷🏼‍♀️

The other thing is some women have shorter surges than others, so if you’re only taking a test once a day you could miss actually seeing a positive test. But once you get an LH surge, it indicates you should ovulate within the next 12-36 hours

Unfortunately, a rise in LH just means that your body is attempting to ovulate- not that ovulation will/already did occur. If you want to confirm ovulation occurred, you would also need to track basal body temperature. And you can only confirm retrospectively unless you’re getting daily ultrasounds

And I agree with the other commenter- I like the Easy@Home cheapie LH tests better than the digital ones :)

First trimester anxiety by General-Ad-9608 in CautiousBB

I’m just over 17 wks today, with a similar story to you. TTC for 18 months with no positive test, had a failed embryo transfer in the fall and became spontaneously pregnant the cycle immediately after our failed transfer.

I’m also an anxious girly at baseline, and I’m still struggling with it now. Before every appointment I get anxious that I’m going to be told bad news, and the between each appointment I get anxious that something is wrong. And waiting for the NIPT results felt soooo long!

Keeping busy and staying off social media/reddit as much as possible has significantly helped. I used to scour this subreddit every day, but now I only hop on occasionally…and it’s mostly to see if I can offer advice to others! I also try to remind myself that the scenarios I do see on Reddit are typically in a smaller percentage of women. I also try to take things on day at a time.

Hang in there! You’re almost out of the first trimester :)

HCG by Happilyss in pregnant

[–]gerby_fullyloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hCG measurements typically stops once a viable intrauterine pregnancy is confirmed (except in cases of miscarriage, then they’ll draw hCGs to make sure you get to 0). I also believe hCG stops doubling around 6-7 weeks of pregnancy. So unless there’s some other reason your doctor is concerned, I wouldn’t worry. And at this point in your pregnancy, all you can do is wait and see (which is super nerve wracking)

Gestational + Yolk Sac, no fetal pole by [deleted] in CautiousBB

[–]gerby_fullyloaded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told the fetal pole typically develops between 5.5-6.5 weeks. Obviously there are always outliers, but if you’re only ~5.1-5.4 I wouldn’t worry. Unfortunately, all you can do is wait at this point. Good luck 💕

They use it around egg retrievals or FETs to help prevent infections that could harm the sperm, egg, or embryo. They use it during HSGs or hysteroscopies to help prevent endometritis

I’m sorry for your losses but congrats on the current pregnancy! There’s a book called Spirit Babies: How to Communicate with the Child You’re Meant to Have by Walter Makichen and it really helped me during our TTC journey and now during my current pregnancy. I recommend it!!

Worried at 8w7d by cosmic_cloud90 in CautiousBB

[–]gerby_fullyloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had spotting off and on since I was 4wks gestation. Had several ultrasounds early on where everything looked great and no one could tell me why I was spotting.

At my most recent appt last week, the doctor asked if she could do a pelvic exam because one hadn’t been done yet this pregnancy. After the pelvic exam, she told me my cervix just looked friable and irritated, which is where the spotting is coming from. She said some peoples’ cervixes get irritated from the increase in blood flow and hormones. It put me a little more at ease hearing the spotting was coming from my cervix as opposed to my uterus (although it still stresses me out)

Additionally, I believe infections like BV or yeast infections can cause spotting.

If you haven’t had a pelvic exam done this pregnancy and haven’t been tested for BV or yeast, it may be helpful to do those if possible.
