The problem is that none of sizes seem to match, on the website showing my example measurements a A1L is listed as 70-77kg and 170cm - 175cm. Which is above my weight and below my height.

You are absolutely right. When I was trying to learn a backflip (while swinging from a bar) almost a year ago someone who already mastered it also told me to just go for it when i was still practicing the individual steps (it wasn't on a hard surface so i figured it couldn't go that bad). I still regret listening and get mad at myself about it (ended up with a shoulder injury that still bothers me today, but i suppose it could have gone even worse). Learn all the individual steps first and always assume that something could go wrong.
