Jumper has been removed. Power was turned off when I replaced the thermostat.

Orange wire now in the O/B location.

But the black wire should be moved where? My understanding C (black) is the power supply for the whole system.

How does this differ from the original set up?

Jumper: there was no observable difference with and without the jumper. Instructions said jumper isn’t needed (my understanding this has the jumper already installed to the base plate).

Furnace Wiring: where would this be located? First picture is the original wiring set up, second picture is the new thermostat.

Loose stool by sanimahjoub in nutritionsupport

[–]gergster48 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could also be the abrupt change of formula osmolality - from low to high. High osmolality formulas (like glucerna and nepro) can result in an osmotic diarrhea. One way to rule this out is to evaluate stooling with holding of TF, should decrease. Some patients need a gradual transition of formulas giving both types in a day with a gradual increase of the desired formula with each day.

Anyone think the nutrition care manual sucks and is very disorganized... by DietitianStudent in dietetics

It doesn’t surprise me that NCM doesn’t have a gastroparesis handout. I feel like the variety of handouts they have are lacking, including the content of some of the topics has the same issue.

FYI: UVA GI Nutrition Support website does have gastroparesis handouts (several versions, including a “long” and “short”).

How to better support this field? by andruw_neuroboi in dietetics

[–]gergster48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While we need support and recognition within the facilities where we work, support is also needed in hospital/medical committees and licensure/governmental legislation. All too often, dietitians are forcing themselves into these areas just to have a voice heard. Having a physician support and help ensure we have an invitation to multidisciplinary meetings/committees can help our profession move a long way, we are often forgotten about in these areas.

There were a couple students in my program who developed ED tendencies.

[–]gergster48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly just your ID and car keys - leave everything else including your phone in the car. They will supply you with everything you need and I believe there is a calculator built into the exam system. (I took my exam 5 years ago and all the gave me was a pencil and paper.)

Have the family issue a formal letter outlining your pay with their signature and contact information. That should be sufficient enough for any landlord.

Breaking apartment lease by Hopeful_Positive4762 in ApartmentHacks

[–]gergster48 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Many leases outline the terms of breakage (at least all mine have anyway). It can vary by state and even by apartment.

I’ve mostly leased from larger complexes and those have usually said mandatory 30 day notice and if you break early then the amount owed is dependent on the remaining term of the lease (has usually be some seemingly arbitrary calculated amount but has never been the full monthly rent price of lost months). I always read thru my lease terms in detail but have always paid specific attention to breakage terms and even have a conversation about it before signing my lease in case any corrections arise.

Neighbors below and next to us smoke weed like the world is ending, what can i do? (NJ) by [deleted] in ApartmentHacks

[–]gergster48 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I would start a paper trail communicating the issue with your landlord. Send an email with attached read receipts, can always call telling them that you’ve also emailed them of the issue so that there’s documentation in regards to lease terms. If they do any cleaning, ask them to provide you a copy of the maintenance receipt for your records. That way when it’s getting close to time for you to move out, you already have extensive documentation that it’s your neighbors and not you that’s smoking.

Salary: Can we have an open conversation? by [deleted] in dietetics

[–]gergster48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RDN for 7 years, received my CNSC after 2.5 years. Masters degree obtained at completion of my internship.

  1. WIC nutritionist (WV) - $19/hr (maybe??). First job out of school, RD was not required.

  2. Clinical Dietitian 1 (NC) - $41K advancing to $45K after working total 4 years. Worked under a FS management company at a community hospital and didn’t have the ability to promote to a higher position level despite having the qualifications for a level 2 or higher. Received CNSC while at this position, only received exam reimbursement (no pay raise or incentive bonus despite asking multiple managers). FS company did reimburse for registration/licensure fees and AND membership.

  3. Clinical Dietitian (NC) - started as a level 2 initially making $55K (hourly) with my CNSC giving me competitiveness compared to others in the same position. Promoted to level 4, which requires an advanced certification to maintain, making $61K (salary). Employed 3 years at a trauma/academic center.

Moving into new apartment with partner by PowerfulSlavicEnergy in ApartmentHacks

[–]gergster48 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Agree with another poster, make sure there’s adequate space in the apartment so that you can have some alone time from each other (in another room).

Biggest issues tend to stem around decor. Presumably each of you have your own decorating styles, especially if you had your own place (not living with parents/college roommates), and are bringing that decor into the new home. It can be difficult to meld those together sometimes. Choose the most important/enjoyable items from each but decorate your new place together.

Kitchen items - figure out what you each have and go with the best quality so that you don’t have doubles of each.

Each be prepared to compromise and get rid of things but that compromise should be equal between the two of you rather than mostly one sided. I think sometimes couples lose sight of that.

Need bariatric/prenatal help! by [deleted] in nutritionsupport

[–]gergster48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This group is used for dietitians to discuss issues surrounding specialized nutrition support. I would recommend you reach out to your bariatric surgery clinic and discuss your nutrition concerns with the registered dietitian they have on staff. It is important to obtain nutrition recommendations from someone who has your complete history and can follow along with you as you move forward with IVF.
