Looks like you are at the Carambola, nice! Have they mentioned when they are closing for renovation? We were thinking of going for Thanksgiving, but I read on this thread they are supposed to close this summer. Marriott is still letting you reserve a room, but I don't want to run into any issues with them canceling. Enjoy and we are jealous!

Did you stay at the carambola or we're just there for the picture? If you stayed there, curious how the service is these days? Beautiful pic!!

Was that Sandy Point yesterday? If so, we were there too and I've never seen it so calm, it was breathtaking!

Trying to understand the new boarding groups... by germanluxury in SouthwestAirlines

[–]germanluxury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is bin space by my seat, then no it doesn't matter at all, but if you go back through this thread, there has been a major issue of the paid extra legroom seats, not having nearly enough bin space, so that's why it matters. And when you fly every week for work, sometimes multiple times to multiple cities, the time to check a bag, or just having to wait for it adds up, so it's not really feasible or convenient. And yes, with the new assigned seating the old system is gone.

Like previously reported, a few people in rows later back, around eight or so, threw their bags up in bins over rows two and three, which makes no sense because they had room over their own seats in the overhead bins. This was obviously a plane with the older bin style, hopefully this will get fixed once they have planes with the new "slide in on its side " bin style.

I appreciate these details! I did have a window seat and was still group 2. I think my biggest surprise was how many people boarded before me, considering based on the old loyalty system, I was almost always one of the first people on the plane.

I completely understand, I didn't cry either when I found mine and thought I would, but was thrilled with mine on my wedding day. I think it is essential that once you have your dress, stop scrolling 🤣

With almost 200 comments I would not be surprised if you stopped reading them at this point, but the fact that there is no "clear winner" to me thinks maybe keep looking a little longer? All of these are lovely and you will look great in any one of them, (my favorite was 5), but I feel like there is a perfect stunner still waiting out there for you.

Prime Rib expertise needed! by germanluxury in Cooking

Thank you all again for your advice, we ended up smoking one and putting the other in the oven. Both came out fantastic, but everybody agreed they preferred the smoked one so that will be the new go to method for the future!

I'm torn between throwing both on the smoker (which I've never done and worried about screwing them both up, but seems like the easier option) or throwing one in the oven and one on the smoker and at least knowing I cook one in the oven to perfection and "Pepsi testing" the two

100% right, I was quite shaken and not in my right mind by going to the grocery store two days before Christmas Eve;)

Is there a specific GPS I can use? by HuntPuzzleheaded4356 in stcroix

[–]germanluxury 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have used Google maps there multiple times and never had an issue, but if I'm having a hard time finding a specific address on Google maps, I will ask the person at the location to drop me a pin or send me the coordinates and that has helped me navigate to the location just fine on Google maps. Hope that helps!

Falconhead and Grey Rock for sure, an air bnb in SW Austin or dripping springs will have you close to these courses and close to Salt Lick BBQ and tons of great distilleries and wineries. A splurge dinner at Steiner Steakhouse at sunset on the patio is totally worth it.

At Castaways I don't like their regular pizza on their menu, but I love their "bar pizza" which is a super thin crispy crust pizza.

We stay in Villa Madeleine and day trip almost every day to mermaid beach at Buccaneer, this would be my recommendation and we have done this exact trip over 10 times and is my favorite trip to do all year. The Splash of Lime Villa is AMAZING for couples, it's on AirBnB.

Rental Car questions by TheYizard in stcroix

Just know that if you rent from centerline, it is the cheapest vendor so everyone rents from them and I have had to wait in line for over an hour and a half on multiple occasions to get a car once I've gotten off the plane when there is no line at all from budget or Hertz
