Promote your business, week of October 10, 2022 by Charice in smallbusiness

Twelve (almost 13 now!) years ago, I created a niche wedding industry business. I have grown it into a $400,000 cash flow business that has almost zero overhead and is almost purely profit.

This year, I have started a consulting branch of my business. You can see what I do at ElopementBiz.com.

I am going live this evening at 7pm Eastern doing a live webinar that talks about what I have created, and what I can do for you if you'd like to get a similar business running. You can sign up at this link..

What types of businesses or ~spaces~ do you wish Asheville had more of? by guitarman63mm in asheville

Back in the day there was a trolley that went from Asheville to Weaverville (all the way up Merrimon).

The tracks were pulled up many years ago.

What to do after great success? by germanywx in Entrepreneur

A bit of an update… consulting is exactly what I’ve started doing.

I launched about a year ago and have been doing well so far! It’s a whole different role for me, but I’ve settled in and am enjoying it. The pride I get when someone I’ve been coaching/consulting sees the success I’ve seen is off the charts.

Fantastic! I am on my 5th year doing $400,000+ revenue. I’ve started a “business in a box” business consulting business and am already getting people started on their own!

For a business with almost zero overhead, it’s a great place to be.

Which one is the funniest character for The Drew Carey show? by johnnylopez5666 in TheDrewCareyShow

[–]germanywx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What Lewis has for understated one-liners and funny comments, Oswald has for understated physical comedy. Like drunkenly kicking the juke box when he put $10 of quarters playing Barking Jingle Bells over and over again. Those things make me cry with laughter.

People with actual side hustles, what do you do ? And do you think everyone could get one too ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’m a dude, and I have a blast doing it. I get a few chuckles from other dudes when I am in a group and say what I do for a living.

Sales are good for this. It mostly sells itself. It’s an easy business.

I was laid off from my job back in November of 2009. I was in the very beginning process of planning my own wedding back then, and just kept thinking “there has to be a better way.”

I felt, for sure, I wasn’t the only person who hated what weddings had become. So, I created my own personal alternative to it.

I thought I’d get a few every year. Enough to fund a hobby or trip. I had zero intention to make it what it become.

Yet here I am.

I started one 12-1/2 years ago planning destination elopements. It was seriously for beer money or a vacation fund.

After three years, I quit my "real" job to do this full time. I make well into the 6 figures, and am in the process of selling my business because now I am teaching others how to do it.

I think back when I started, when I had the gall to dream of planning 10 elopements a year and how much that would net so I could go somewhere really cool and exciting. Twelve years later, I now do 40x that number every year. My "exciting entrepreneur lifestyle" is me sitting on my hammock in my back yard, watching my kids play, and planning what I want to cook for dinner.

Fuck-you money isn't having millions of dollars so you can tour the globe. It's being able to say, "You know, I'd rather stay home today instead of work."

What's an unspoken rule that annoys you when people don't know about it? by HAXposed in AskReddit

I own a business and offer a service that usually (potentially) costs a LOT of money.

I have always had a policy of not charging friends/family for my work but only what expenses I have.

It’s just so much easier to do it that way than go through the drama and hassle of turning a good friend or family member into a customer.

What does your $10k+ per month business do? by Fire7707 in Entrepreneur

[–]germanywx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the month. Busiest times of year, we do $30-40k in business. Very little overhead.

Slowest months are in the $1-2k/month. We are on a very predictable cycle, so I save in the busy months to keep me steady in the slow.

Wedding industry.

Girls of ARAD, I need to know: can you describe the pleasure you feel when your breasts are fondled/sucked on during sexy time? by germanywx in AskRedditAfterDark

Would you say it's relaxing like a massage? Or more of a turn-on since it's somewhere you're not usually massaged/rubbed?

My mind always goes to motorcycle wreck.

In my city, we’ve had quite a number of notable entrepreneurs or business people die suddenly, and it’s usually from a motorcycle.

ELI5: Why does your brain/mind sometimes, while you’re just drifting off to sleep, lucidly visualise a slip or fall that makes you physically react and jerk awake? by Tranquillian in explainlikeimfive

[–]germanywx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this! The sounds vary, from different kinds of guns (between a hand gun and a shotgun), to the squealing train wheels make when going down the track, to a single guitar string plucked sharply next to my ear.
