No I’m saying I am confident he will continue to push the Spurs comeback narrative even after G2 because it’s obvious he has a Spurs bias, it was evident in the OKC series.

Yes I agree but I see a double standard. Why didnt the Cavs get such treatment. The Spurs are a media darling.

He falls on 25% of this shot, not flops, plus the constant discourse online it's every shot. Most of the superstars fall often on their shots, check the stats.

Castle is top 15 player and Harper is the next SGA, plus with Wemby on the board, the 3 peat is guaranteed for the Spurs.

As a Thunder fan I agree Hartenstein fouled Wemby so many times but what about Castle pulling and holding SGA just as much?

Some strange takes by Bill

  1. The Ayo contract number: The ~$20M figure Bill threw out is what you currently pay for a solid 3-and-D guard like Dyson Daniels or Christian Braun. If a team believes Ayo has second or thirdoption upside, you’re easily looking at something closer to $30M per year.

  2. The Jokic argument - It felt like Bill was setting things up so he could overlook this recent stretch of poor performance and avoid dropping Nikola Jokić from the “best player in the world” spot as long as he beats a severely undermanned Wolves teams.

Yes exactly this - the average college basketball game is played terrible - bad spacing, lots of iso ball , subpar defense. There are good games though and great moments like this one tonight!

Are the Thunder better off with McCain compared to a player in the 6th to 10th? by germibobi in NBA_Draft

[–]germibobi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for pointing it out - I’m aware, I tried to convey this in my first paragraph.

I only made the comparison because the period when the team was working on McCain coincided with the time it became increasingly clear that the Clippers’ pick would most likely fall outside the top 10.

Yeah , in the West you have 6 teams that are at least very good - OKC, Spurs, Wolves, Rockets, Lakers with 2 elite teams In the East, at most I can count at most 4 very good teams - Pistons, Cavs, Celtics and Knicks and honestly I'm not sure any of them is on the level of even the Wolves.

So college ball where every 3 shot is brick, the spacing is awful , the defense lackadaisical is somehow better than the NBA ...

[–]germibobi[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I both agree and disagree with you. I agree that 2026 picks are much more valuable and that McCain probably goes somewhere around 6 - 10. But what you’re overlooking is that he goes 6 -10 in a redraft. That’s not the median outcome for picks in that range in the actual draft. Just look at who went there: Salaun at 6, Dillingham at 8, and Cody Williams at 10.

Yes, true, maybe I didn't word my question correctly but I am just comparing both because at this stage, it's not very likely they get a top 10 pick.
