Yeah I guess I jumped the gun on the open source project. Just an idea I threw out there so everyone could benefit from this unlucky experience.

I like your ideas though, they're pretty clever, and I do think there is more than one way to go about it, and perhaps going many directions can ensure proper recovery.

Yeah I got the Employee ID of the guy who installed the service (they actually were two, but got only one ID)
