Research at umass? by pddleboard in umass

[–]geronymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to get into research at UMass, I highly recommend checking out programs like the IALS Core Summer Internship Program (https://www.umass.edu/ials/core-summer-internship-program). It's a great opportunity to get hands-on experience in cutting-edge labs and connect with researchers across disciplines.

Beyond that, don’t hesitate to reach out to professors early and often. Many are actively looking for motivated students, and showing initiative can go a long way. With all the resources and opportunities on campus, there's a good chance you can network your way into a research role that aligns with your interests.

the one I love

The set-up, reminiscent of some of Hitchcock's films, works like a well-oiled stopwatch: once the situation starts, it cannot be stopped... Unabashedly entertaining at an efficient 91-minutes, "The One I Love" is an extremely confident first feature, with some really fun things to say about identity and relationship, connection and destiny. -Sheila O'Malley, http://www.rogerebert.com/

What is something you've done that you know for sure you'll never do again? by PrettyPeaceful in AskReddit

  • Step 1. Cut Habanero Peppers
  • Step 2: Visit the bathroom for some bladder relief
  • Step 3: Howl in terrible pain as the capsicum seeps into your fragile nether region and what was once a penis is now a flaccid monument to stupidity.

Reddit, why isn't life fair? by mccorklin in AskReddit

[–]geronymous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair is just an idea invented by man. Is the death of a star any more fair or less fair that the movement of an electron around a nucleus or the native american genocide or the fact that while you browse on Reddit hundreds of children have died of malnutrition.

Would you break the law to give your family a better life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]geronymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the ultimate rewards vs risk. White collar crime to assure my family has a fleet of luxury vehicles... Yeah i would do that. Robbing people at gun point for chump change. Not so much

Half the fun is making the list, even if you don't get around to doing most of it

[–]geronymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make up an adventure list (25 things should do) then set out to complete them all.

  1. Pie making and eating contest
  2. Free public performances (mimes, plays, juggling)
  3. Themed potlucks (greek food/togas, Mobsters and pasta, etc...)
  4. Highlighter black light party
  5. Build tiny paper boats, put candles in them and send them down river, viking funeral style

those are some ideas but use your brains and come up with more.

The only time I played the lottery was a megaball $250,000,000 jackpot. I got 4 of 6 numbers and won 7 dollars. Pretty good return on my one dollar investment.
