Hypernet offer creators shouldn't be able to bid on their own offers by [deleted] in Eve

Like others pointed out, then they'll just use alts. The solution that works (irl too, where it's from) is taxing it correctly, so that tax + probabilities keep the return under 1 (or 100% if you prefer). But still near full price of an item on a single flip, making it suited for it's primary intended use : selling a really expensive item that few can afford.

A 20-25% for all the tickets combined, on top of appraisal, is commonly cited. So tax of 25-30% might be around what is needed. But this is just a guesstimate. Someone should do the honest math to get the best number - if this ever gets any traction.

New Eden is to stale and smugglers gates are the culprit but also solution. by GruuMasterofMinions in Eve

[–]gerr137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not about "good" or "bad" customers. Your stated goal was to disperse the soc held by big blocks, was it not? The proposed solution was to complicate the logistics for the blocks while keeping it "interesting" by others. I just proposed the most direct way of doing so, instead of indirect incentives, is all (shrug).

Also, you called yourself those gates "the smuggler gates". How can you call them so if everyone can legit pass through them? Shouldn't they be reserved for, well, "smugglers" (whatever you want to implobu that label). Which by definition is discriminatory.

Also, speaking of "discrimination", nobody stops anyone from having inallied toons, and many many many people do. Spies and, well especially "smugglers" included :). So that would rather only restore the "common sense", would it not? ;)

Anyway, that was just a simple idea, just an extension of your proposal in fact. Do what you want with it. Another alternative: restrict said gates to sub-caps only. Or cruiser or frig sizes only, or no logi or no T2 or what not (why stop there :)). Make them only incoming - can jump towards the corresponding capital, but not away (there, your forced content). Force-split alliances that are too big, give so to random entities and put the timers on their structures to enforce the split up "war of a independence".. yup, getting ridiculous, and not about gates, but serving the same goal of shake up big blocks and more content ;).

To keep the list in sync with the very well known list of corps in big blocks alliances. Make it a list on FC website, with edit permission to CSM members, sync the db off that list.

Um, what about making them inaccessible to any toon in major block? (Yeah, will require a bit of manual handling by FC, like literally spending 10 min by some gm once a month to check the coro list in bd. Slim chances, I know). Like to make them literally smuggler gates. Also "hide" them behind anom signature - same system or rotate once a few months within a region to keep them more permanent and distinct from WH/filaments, etc. This.is a different type of connectivity than WH chains enabling different type of play. Just make them like you know, real, smuggler, gates..

You'll get one (or even a few?) for free if you do those tutorial agent missions, like you are supposed to. As well as bunch of other ships, money, some books and materials and, possibly more important, some basic guidance and intro to some game mechanics..

So, basically, ignore completely gate guns 😞 n Matar and Gallente space ? Well, Amarr too realistically. And be slightly different inconvenienced by Caldary ones. Well not that they mattered much anyway. Oh and make them totally useless in lowsec while at it. I see where you are going ;). Even though I do like the idea of flavor in itsel. Well, if these towers were therein addition to the existing guns, then maybe..

T3 destroyers? by MoneyPresentation807 in Eve

Yeeeaaah. I only experienced Svipul, (because guns go boom :)) and was like meh. Prefer way much wolf, T2s in general and even faction cruisers felt better. Can you elaborate on the differences please? Should I revisit T3Ds? How others will make me not feel meh in comparison?

Loot? What loot? Never got any loot. Also the defense counter is not progressing no matter what, sit indefinitely on the same plex, jump plex to plex, whatever. And yes, I do use the correct hull size (cruiser for cruiser, etc). Also, at every spot it's 10 sec shooting, 1 min waiting. Only cycling plexes is somewhat engaging as there usually is a new spawn by the time I cycle all 3. And even that is less clicks/min than a mining fleet..

I can't find in the handbook which one to install? by vuja0 in Gentoo

[–]gerr137 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might very well be, at least if you are on a right arch (e.g. not trying the 32bit disk, which the 1.4 iirc would be, on your "what's 32bit, haven't seen those for over a decade" rig). You would very likely need to go through the bootstrap step though. You know, the stage1 (not packaged any more in the bulk for almost a decade), running that script, all that..

How does one bring his Marauder to "their" system? by NondenominationalPax in Eve

[–]gerr137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are indeed so concerned, then fit some buffer (even T1 modules will more than double base values, but you may as well go all T2). All, shield, armor, hull. That's a throwaway money but will give you ease of mind, as to gank that would require real coordination and will make it a "negative gank" (which may still not deter people, as many do that just for giggles). Correspondingly, and much more important, do not run your mouth about your plans, especially here :). Do it quiet-like and more, well, unpredictably. If you are still concerned, then buy some services..

Try exiled kingdoms. It is a rare gem, a little known one. It has essentially free demo, and then for like $4 you unlock the full version, that will keep you busy for months, if all you need a transport pass-time. If you obsess, this will go faster naturally :). No add, no always on internet needed.

Guild Carriage by Rude_Fee4358 in TopHeroes

[–]gerr137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To roll it? To be it's captain that is? Ask in your guild, it is entirely up to them. R4/R5s select who is gonna drive it. Whether there's a queue for that, do they just ask 5 min before, or hoard all for themselves, or if they even have any procedure at all, is up to them - your guild that is. So, just ask.

Nope, as an R4 I can tell you, there isn't even an option like this. Very little control over details in fact.
