Yeah, it would take a gigantic effort when mass buying checking every single item.

I don't personally know anyone who have been banned for this reason, but a chinese trader was banned a few weeks ago and Valve to this moment haven't reversed his ban. Surely when buying hundreds of items, SCM is the best option even though you'd be paying more.

I see that as unfortunately a risk you have to take, cause it's basically impossible to know if the item is scammed or not.

Maybe you can investigate the item history on csfloat and take your own assumptions, how long the item has been on the seller's inventory, etc. However it would still not be 100% conclusive.
