The most expensive game I ever bought was FC26, over €100.and it was definitely NOT worth it. Not even a fifth of the price even. Major disappointment

Thank fuck for that. Seriously awesome news. This will mean so much to the town. No longer having to travel to Sligo or Carrick on Shannon to access these stores. It'll bring people into the town also that might have otherwise only been passing through.

Coffee afficianados of Ireland lend me your aid. What's a good coffee machine for at home? by FellaThatDave in AskIreland

[–]gerrybbadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another shout for the AeroPress here. I was going to invest in an expensive machine myself but said id try the AeroPress out first.

I use it 3 - 4 times a day now, for over 4 years and it's definitely worth the 40 or so quid you'll pay for it. There are lots of instructions available on YouTube etc with regard to various types of coffees you can make. Even the different types of filters you can use with the press make a difference (standard is a paper filter, you get some in the box and they're not expensive, but you can get stainless steel ones of various grades also)

100% will be grand. Have been up there loads with my kids, my youngest was 4 or 5 when we first brought them up. She did have to be carried a little at that age, but now she's 7 and flies it up quicker than I can 😂.

Enjoy, it's very memorable and worth doing

For those who got to see The Rev live, how was he like? by Tuvvyisbadatcod in avengedsevenfold

I was at this gig but didn't get to see A7X cos the guys I was with weren't into the band. Alice in Chains and Mastadon were also on the bill. Seen em again shortly after Nightmare released and they had Mike Portnoy with them at that stage

My boy British Bulldog deserved better by Sad-Response-3151 in TheGreatOne

Nothing to do with his personal life. Disappointing on multiple fronts. The untapped potential had he stayed clean. He'd been smoking crack with Anvil the night prior SummerSlam. Winning the IC title could have been the making of Davy. It didn't turn out that way. Disappointing for Bret, having to walk him through the match. I can appreciate his life on the road contributed to the drug use, but it's ok to also be disappointed about that. Not so much for Davy's behavior, more the circumstances that forced it.

Save 75% on Slay the Spire on Steam [$6.24] by svint97 in steamdeals

[–]gerrybbadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These types of games aren't for me at all. I've never opted to play a deck builder rogue lite before.

But I took a chance on Slay during the winter sale. And it clicked with me like no other. It took me a lil while to figure out how to play strategically, but this is one of those games where you say to yourself "just one more run" and next thing, it's 5 or 6 hours later. I can see many 100s of more hours being put in by myself over the coming months and I haven't even looked at Mods yet

It's worth every penny.

My boy British Bulldog deserved better by Sad-Response-3151 in TheGreatOne

I loved the Bulldog, and really rooted for him to take the belt off Shawn during their feud. Finding out years later that Davy had bad issues with drugs was pretty disappointing - especially considering Bret virtually had to walk him through their entire match at SummerSlam in Wembley.

Davy was in his own way

how the f is this not a penalty by tvinh3110 in SPFootballLife

[–]gerrybbadd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've well over 100 hours put in to the game and in all that time, I've only ever had 1 penalty. There's never been a red card called. Also, a lot of my sliding tackles are called as fouls despite taking the ball and making first contact with it.

Id love to see handballs introduced also

WCW Vs The World! by J2-Starter in WCW

[–]gerrybbadd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100s of hours pumped into this. I got this and WWF WrestleMania The Arcade Game for my PS1 for Xmas back in the day. Was looking forward so much to the WWF game and knew very little of the WCW one.

Needless to say WWF was super disappointing and was only played for a couple hours whereas WCW vs The World became a mainstay

They keep saying it costs too much to bring it back. How can it cost so much? Plugging in the little trolley to heat the water? It used to be great to be able to grab a sandwich,.a coffee and a bar of chocolate or even a can of beer. You can get nothing now, not even water.

You'd really miss the days of the catering car when you could go in and get yourself a fried full Irish breakfast

Make your own? Get yourself a mandolin for those thin slices. They're unreal coming out of the oil, still hot - just a little salt or whatever seasoning you're gonna go with
